  1. Wouldn't normal cruise insurance cover that, it's a cost you incurred no fault of yours. Don't know, but it's seems logical.
  2. We were on the Nova last December-Janurday cruise. Service surprise me, just wasn't top notch like you'd expect. They posted some of our laundry, run out of a white wine (non-alcohol) and even run out of lettuce for salads for the salad bar. The port were pretty big cities, so it's not like they couldn't get it.
  3. This why we stopped cruising Regent and Silversea--spending extra dollar for things we don't use. We also don't drink and prefer to tour on are own. Now back on "O".
  4. If you are only taking about one or two bottles, they sell special zip lock padded bottle carriers to be packed in your suitcase. Doesn't really take up much room and really leak proof if they break. We done this on the way home-never had a problem.
  5. Truly you never know. The odd's are with you-but canceled port happen. You just have to roll with it.
  6. Maybe if you are registered with a TA you won't get the calls. We use a TA, and I look all the time and never gotten a call from "O".
  7. It's possible that if Sweden is your final stop and your flight is non-stop-they may have it at duty free shop----or something better at the higher price you might enjoy.
  8. Every cruise we'd taken, the answer is "NO".😃
  9. This what I'd do....makes sense to me.
  10. WOW! Sounds like you had a wonderful cruise. Now on your way for more adventures, you travel a lot like us when in Europe. Taking one day at a time, enjoying life at your speed not others. Wish you safe and enjoyable days ahead. Thank you so much for taking the time to post about your trip sharing your thoughts.............😃
  11. We don't do a lot of "O" tours, however a couple of times a tour was sold out. We put are name on the waitlist. Didn't think about until we got on the ship, we clear one right after boarding the ship. The 2nd one clear a few days later, they notified us and ask if we still wanted it. Also when we booked tours on any ship, once we decided we didn't want to tour as much, we turned those back early on, so someone on a waitlist got them. Now touring isn't much for us, so we book very few for any cruise.
  12. One would think a name change would be easy with the circumstances at hand. But you'd have to be 100% certain that the passport is in order and in hand. Even thought I trust a good TA, I'd want to make a call to "O" and get everything in writing before you leave. Hope you have a great cruise and the problem becomes reality for you.
  13. Read a post from Izzy's Mom--"Considering a Owner Suite" (504 Views) in column #2 Post. I wasn't posting, I was answering her question at the time.
  14. I don't really put them down (sorry if you think that, it wasn't my intention). I just get tired of people that feel they are so important they have to let people know who they are through the ship. "O" know who you happen to be, how much you cruise or spend. I believe when you go on holiday/vacation you should spend as much as your budget allows and be happy with what you have. Don't worry what other think, just have a good time. Maybe you think the show fits, but that's your opinion and that's OK. But if you or someone ask a question, expect an answer or don't ask.
  15. No, because I never ever on the ship mention what suite we are in. However people ask questions regarding the suite and perks or your preferences. Big difference when you wear a pin on the ship. Just saying.........
  16. We were on (recently) Spirit and Nova, didn't happen on those ships. Really my experience is "O" is higher than just premium, not sure how much-but as good or better than Silversea (just my opinion).
  17. Just an opinion - but really who wants them, more important are the benefits you get at each level. Wearing a pin on the ship is just saying "lookout me, I'm special", do you really want to know those people. The crew know who you are and what status you happen to be...........
  18. I agree, you'd think "O" would realize 100 people-keep the music going. Thank you again for posting as I'm really enjoying your cruise.
  19. If you have it booked and they categorized the space and you are in it, I'd think you would get all the benefits for that category.
  20. Odd, I use Safari and use it here those days and haven't had a problem. Maybe I just hit it at the right time.
  21. If you do, you don't want to know that person anyway--and you really don't want to have dinner with them.😃
  22. I believe you are right, until you have and use the service of a Butler you don't know. For us the best thing about Regent and Siversea is you don't have to show your key card every time you do something. Honestly that's about it and that's because you pay ahead of time, the drink package and tours are included. We don't drink so no big deal. I really found the Butler we've had on our "O" cruises does every bit as good as the others. Sometimes you get a great Butler others time not so good. Again I also believe the suite is important - and for price you get a nicer suite at a lower cost and that really does make a difference. The bigger the suite the better the perks in general.
  23. I know, but most people don't--they just complain to other cruises.
  24. That surprises me, I've never seen that high of a percentage on the 8 cruises I've taken on "O". I enjoy dressing nice-but no jacket for me.
  25. On any cruise, if you don't care enough to discuss the problem-how do expect management on the ship to solve the problem. Sometime it's a simple fix, sometimes it may take a little longer. But don't let one thing ruin your cruise, you have to learn to let it go and move on.
