  1. I cruised last week and confirmed, with a VV bar manager, that Virgin's drinking age policy is 21 both in and out of international waters and is strictly enforced via the wristband ( i.e. no drinks sold to those under 21). I'm sure moms are happy to hear that. NSA is no longer playing. Personally, I loved it but wouldn't recommend it for teens.
  2. I would call sailor services with your booking number and request to be moved to deck 11-13. I would avoid deck 14. You can see what's above and below your room at cruisedeckplans dot com and choose a room with cabins above and below you. Hope that helps
  3. I've taken this route to get a different cabin than the one offered: VV usually offers a "24 hour hold" option in their online reservations (at the payment page section). Twice I placed a reservation on this '24-hour hold' and then called sailor services to see if my favorite cabin was available. If so, he/she was able to switch me over and I went back and completed the reservation payment online. As others said avoid deck 14. You can go to cruisedeckplans dot com and look at what's above and or below you. I only choose cabins that have cabins above and or below mine and avoid cabins close to the stairways and elevators. Hope this helps
  4. As an extra bonus, both Razzle Dazzle and the Wake offer brunch that can only be booked via the app once on board and can be booked for multiple days.
  5. I'm a long-time cruiser on over 11 cruise lines and after spending most of the last 10 years (250 days) on the 6-star Seabourn line I'm finding Virgin to be a refreshing change to the standard cruise product most other lines are offering. Virgin lets 'you be you' and as Lustate stated, it's more like being at a high-end resort where you can be yourself. You can wear shorts everywhere the entire cruise, jeans or a tux if you want. The food is varied and excellent and Virgin offers vegan to carnivore options in most of its dining venues. As a non-drinker and non-partier, I can find quiet venues to relax and enjoy. Hope this helps.
  6. I had the very good fortune of flying Virgin America twice before Alaska Air acquired them. Virgin America actually made flying fun. That's incredible in of itself. Now Virgin has turned the 'same ol same ol' cruise experience on its head and made cruising fun and exciting. If your TA is berating it, find another TA but give Virgin a test dive. You have nothing to loose ๐Ÿ™‚
  7. And go early to get in line. The line is pretty long at 7.
  8. I think Virgin is perfect for you. I've been on over 50 cruises/12 cruise lines and they all offer basically the same cruise experience. Virgin is very inclusive and the most fun you will ever find on a cruise ship.
  9. Cruise charge - $2000 to $4000 Airfare and travel - $1000 - $2000 Tipping the porter to start the cruise with a smile instead of a rant - $5 (priceless). Cheaper than a Starbucks. I generally overtip in life. I give the man 10 bucks and get a smile, a fist bump, and even a 2 - 5 minute friendly chat while walking away smiling and ready to enjoy my happy Virgin cruise. Honestly, you don't need to tip if you don't want to. ๐Ÿ™‚
  10. Agreed. I play hours and hours at the BJ table (playing two positions at $25 per hand) and didn't get on their radar. Lost a bunch too.
  11. You may be correct regarding your 'misread' comment observation. This info came from my phone call with a sailor service agent when I was asking (or confirming) the reason I was not seeing Deep Blue Extras on my April booking. She had to reach out to a colleague to get info so, as we know, land-based sailor services personnel are not always providing accurate information. Deep Blue Extras are ending March 31st but no one on shore OR on board knows what Virgin has coming for their To Be Announced loyalty program structure. Anyone: 'please post any breaking news as soon as you see it' ๐Ÿ™‚
  12. Good catch. Iโ€™ve seen it 4 times and still canโ€™t wait to see it again. TGIF
  13. The restaurants are the slowest early in the evening so I take advantage of this opportunity and book for 6 - 6:30 whenever possible. I will make an exception if a show I fancy is scheduled at 6:30 (say Duel Reality for example).
  14. It wasn't closed in Bimini on my last 3 cruises... We left Bimini at 5-5:30 and Restaurants open at 6PM...
  15. As OP, and just getting off of Virgin, I wanted to add some final remarks from my point of view. 1. The Sea Rover program is changing and what was leaked to me was; the new program will require 2 sailings between Jan. 1st, 2023, and March 31st, 2023. Sea Blazer's status was unknown. Again, Virgin has not announced any new loyalty program yet. 2. Deep Blue Extras are no longer offered on cruises after Apr 1st. I'm keeping my March booking but canceled my April booking and I had Virgin refund my port taxes and bank my cruise fare to my account. (I'm hoping this gets resolved before my March Cruise so I can take advantage of any perks/special rates offered onboard.) As a quick comment about premium internet: I had premium on my last 4-day cruise out of Miami but the speeds were only 5-10 Mbps with the ship at 50% occupancy. To slow for me to stream. It is what it is.
  16. I did the tour Friday and found it to be excellent. I highly recommend it.
  17. I attended their last show on Scarlet Lady and was so thankful for the opportunity. The best show on the seas. Thank you Dr A and cast. You made the cruise something special. ๐Ÿ˜
  18. This is all very helpful and based on these comments I will definitely do this tour.
  19. Silly question but has anyone ever ordered and got Hard boiled eggs onboard Virgin? Itโ€™s my fo to breakfast Thanks
  20. Has anyone ever done the Behind the Scenes tour and if so did you find it worth $200?
  21. The ships are great, the staff is wonderful and the food is excellent. IT department...needs to up it's game. (Virgin will probably cancel me for saying this ๐Ÿ™‚
  22. Absolutely, never book under or over public spaces. (Learned this the hard way on Oceanic). curisedeckplans dot com is a good site for deck plans.
  23. Perfectly stated. Virgin is winning the game so far and I'm really hoping they don't fumble the football. I would love to call Virgin my only choice of cruise lines (and I've tried them all - almost).
  24. Several posters have been discussing the future of the Sea Rover loyalty program in other discussion posts on this board. The consensus of most is: the Sea Rover program is or may be ending on the first of April and being replaced with a yet-to-be-disclosed new loyalty program. The future of Deep Blue Extras is also TBD. Nobody in the Virgin customer service department (either by chat or phone) is aware of what Virgin is planning. Because I loved my first Virgin experience in January so much I'm taking my third Virgin cruise next week with cruises 4 and 5 booked for March and April. Having owned a nationwide customer service department for over 35 years servicing the Veterinary industry, experience has taught me one thing: Customers hate "not knowing'. Good news is welcome, bad news is acceptable, but NO NEWS drives customers crazy. I'm hoping Virgin releases its new loyalty plan sooner than later or keeps the existing structure in place. Either way, it would be nice to know when planning future cruises. Any updates on this topic would be very much appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚
  25. This is good information to have. I have cruises booked for next week and mid-March (both with Deep Blue extras). I will cancel my Apr. cruise while I'm still 45 days out. I'll get the future cruise credit and hope the new loyalty rewards are as good as the current one.
