  1. @Mary229, did you book your own flights using FE or did HAL arrange the whole package? I'm still confused when you say you booked it. Booked it on your own, thru a TA, or a PCC?
  2. A few months ago I had a devil of a time getting to Buenos Aires. I booked my own airfare. When I was telling someone on the cruise my tale of woe, they said if I had booked everything thru HAL they would have assisted me. I asked if she and her husband used Flight Ease. She said no, they booked thru HAL. So is Flight Ease the same as booking on your own, and booking thru HAL is something different? I'm an experienced cruiser, but have only recently started taking some of the more exotic and longer itineraries that require more complex arrangements. This is new territory for me.
  3. Yes. I've been upgraded from inside to obstructed outside.
  4. I had to buy a new phone. 😁 Other apps on my older Android no longer worked, so I took it as a sign that I needed to upgrade. I don't know how Navigator support can help if the older system doesn't support the newer version of the app.
  5. That's interesting. I recently took a 31 day cruise and the only place I signed a slip was in the spa. Having people sign those slips slows down service. 18% tip on each drink is sufficient, IMO.
  6. It's programmed into your room key that you give to the server. It's been a long time since I've signed a drink slip.
  7. It will have a lot more functionality once you get onboard and sign into your account. You will also use it to access the ship's wireless. I used it a lot on my recent South America cruise.
  8. @JoyMBee, you came to the right place for information and advice on river cruising. My first river cruise was Budapest to Passau on the Danube. Keep in mind that there's no ONE right itinerary or cruise line. Several could work for you depending on your interests, schedule, and budget. Pick one and go with it, then evaluate afterwards what you liked and didn't like. It's not too late to book something for this year.
  9. Gary did the Buenos Aires to Santiago itinerary, but his video can give someone a feel for the ship.
  10. Isn't Stanley Park in Vancouver? Are you perhaps thinking of Vondelpark?
  11. @NCTribeFan, glad it worked for you. If HAL would only provide these instructions on the app it would save a lot of customers a lot of grief and frustration. Now we know.
  12. I think there's a great deal of confusion on the part of the app developers as to the difference between Apple and Android. 😆 I still don't understand why I only have to go through these gyrations with Navigator app updates.
  13. @Turtles06, thank you for the clarification.
  14. @Nang, I'm giving you a cyber hug. 😁 When you said clear the data and the cache for the APP, a bell went off. I was clearing the data and cache for the PHONE. I had no idea each app has it's own. Duh! I installed the app, went to Settings, clicked on Apps, clicked on Navigator, clicked on Storage, then deleted Data and Cache. Voila! Opened app, signed into HAL account, and all is right with the world. Thanks again. I hope this helps someone else.
  15. I just sent Navigator Support an email asking for assistance. I also left a 1 star review in the Google Play Store.
  16. I believe everyone's resets at midnight.
  17. Does anyone know where I can get help? Is it possible to get internet access on a ship without the navigator app installed?
  18. I wiped out everything - history, data, cached files, etc. Reinstalled the !@#$%& app and nada, white screen. Why can I use banking and airline apps on my new phone but not a cruise line app? I'm royally honked off.
  19. If I only get the white screen when I reinstall, how do I sign in? I'm thoroughly confused.
  20. @terrydtx, are you saying I have to install the nonworking app, clear the cache, and then sign in? If it's not currently installed, what would be in the cache to clear? Excuse my lack of technical knowledge.
  21. Last night I uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice. When I open it, white screen. Tried again this morning. I get the Navigator logo and a message asking me if I'll allow notifications. I click Allow and get the white screen. My phone is a new Samsung Galaxy so an updated app should work on it. No problems with other apps I use that have gone through updates. Suggestions?
  22. @CocoChip, thank you for the detailed, extensive review.
  23. I've only had one B2B experience. It was in Vancouver and was extremely disorganized with next to no information. The passengers knew more about the process than the staff on the ship and in Canada Place.
