Ugh Susie - bad enough the new freezer isn’t working right but now no good service?  How frustrating.  If it’s still under warranty, I’d be tempted to tell them to send you a new working one since they can’t send a service person and wasted your valuable time.

That’s what we went through with the last fridge.  We have had this one 5 months. It’s getting tiresome.

  2. Today was a lesson in frustration. After replacing our old Samsung (Samsuck?) refrigerator in March because of a lousy ice maker, the new LG now has a different freezer problem. I called Customer Service last week and went through their suggestions for reset and changing the water pressure, but no luck. They scheduled a service call for today, arriving between 8 am and noon. At 1:30 I called and the agent said he'd send a text to the technician asking about the delay. At 6 pm I went online to LG chat. Went through everything again and then found out the service call had been cancelled. We live on an island. Sheesh! OK but why not call or email or some kind of notification. They finally offered a new ice cube unit for self-installation and we get a free water filter. This was after an hour of back and forth. Obviously, dinner was late. Luckily it was just reheating leftovers. I think I need ice cream!

I hope everyone has a good weekend and safe travels for those away from home.

Thank you!  I'm excited.  We prefer aft too, and have a cabin on the 11th deck right on the aft.  It will be only 1 week, to see if we like Princess but also because any longer and we'd have to do laundry 😉

At least Princess still has self-service laundry on each deck and this last cruise it was free. I love the cabin closet set-up. It's one long bar across from the bathroom door with a shelf above and floor space for shoes and suitcases. There is a tall narrow cabinet that is behind the bathroom door when the door is open-several shelves and the safe. The closet area even has room for a pop-up mesh hamper. It's a hard choice between Princess and HAL lately-like them both (although you're right, free laundry is nice!)  Breakfast is usually at the buffet and we enjoy eating outside-a good amount of the area is covered.

  4. @Cruising-alongWe were on the Discovery Princess in April for the Solar Eclipse cruise. 2 months after booking opened we ended up with a guarantee cabin so we were in a forward cabin, rather than our preferred aft. We got a lot of steps in but it wasn't as bad as I had feared. The ship was totally booked for the total eclipse but really didn't seem overly crowded. It's a beautiful ship and the International Cafe is always wonderful. If you're lucky, you will have Cole Bockman from New Zealand, as cruise director. He is a riot-make sure you see his Wake Show on tv in the morning. And our medallions worked quite well. Love having the door unlock as I approach while holding morning lattes from the International Cafe.

If he did, I missed it.  He has been very invisible.

SOUTH CAROLINA (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — On Sunday, Gov. Henry McMaster declared a State of Emergency in preparation for the potential effects of Hurricane Debby this week.

Sunday’s executive order activates the South Carolina Emergency Operations Plan and enables all state agencies to coordinate resources in preparation for Hurricane Debby.

There has been no evacuation order.  The governor did not even declare a state of emergency.  Without those in place there is no one to notify.

i see that Jim Cantore is in Charleston.

As I said before, there is no place to go.

I thought I read yesterday that the governor declared a state of emergency.

    Good morning all!

Yes, we have rain!  Finally.  A nice gentle, steady rain and will go through tomorrow morning.  @SusieKIslandGirl I'm not sure where you are

We're on Vashon, directly across from Sea-Tac airport. And the rain we did have that reset our weather gauge was 0.015" so it barely counts. Sadly, the rain here didn't last and everything is dry again. I hope some more shows up. Everyone I spoke with this morning agreed it was a lovely, cloudy PNW day😅.
