  1. And thank you Tim for taking us along on another cruise. Off to Burien tomorrow so will wave and will remind them you'll be back 😊.
  2. I'm with you @Cruising-alongbeing jealous. Did you see Neil when he was in Seattle for 5 nights? My friend and I managed all 5 nights with seats in various sections of the arena. Front row one night which was amazing!!! And behind the band, 2nd level, which was a blast.
  3. First time I've tried to transfer a photo. Lovely arrangements at the market ready for the cabin. Not sure how to make it smaller. And now not sure if it will show up twice. Computers not my forte!
  4. If you snorkel, check out Patrick's tours. We loved the food trucks during the evening in Papeete and bought flowers for the cabin at the market.
  5. Well, today has started out well. First, it has finally cooled off a bit so is pleasant. 2nd, DS turns 50 today-but I'm not sure how that happened so quickly. Then I had to contact HAL about an OBC that expires in November. I think it was from our cancelled May Volendam cruise when they turned the ship into refugee housing. We weren't able to book the replacement cruise because of the hip surgery. I called Guest Relations and reached an agent in less than 10 minutes! And she was able to extend the credit to our February New Zealand cruise! Amazing on 2 counts. But I'm still waiting for Flight Ease to open up for our May cruise. Erg! @Cruising-alongpain in the inner elbow is often called golfer's elbow. Ended up with both from work. Lastly, an email from our Safeway grocery store said they're now offering Covid tests for travel. PCR-quality with results in 20 minutes for $69. Still a little pricy but less than $250 at SEATAC airport.
  6. @ThrakThen for lunch switch to a slushy frozen coffee drink with Bailey's. Yum!
  7. @Cruzin TerriYou might ask your dr. about carafate. For a long time I wasn't able to take Aleve or Motrin without a painful stomach. 1/2 tablet with the med. really helped. It's so strange to read about the rain most of the country is experiencing. The Puget Sound area has been so dry-and hot! But we've also had some lovely bioluminescence lately.
  8. We've often gotten by with just a bag or 2 during the 2 weeks onboard. It's amazing how many items you can cram into those blue laundry bags!
  9. @oakridgerWe booked flights through Flight Ease for next February. We're on Air New Zealand from LA to Auckland. We have a return from Sydney to SFO on United, if that helps your search. Of course, we have to add on SEA to any trip.
  10. @luvteachingWe're closer to Seattle-finally below 90 now. I've made the lemonade pie 3 times now. All 3 times it was with the larger 12 oz can, the only size the grocery store had. I made limeade the 2nd time which we loved and the 3rd time I found lemon instant pudding so used that with some fresh lemon and zest. I froze the extra mixture which was a good snack, a spoonful at a time 😊. Smart to make it ahead so it has plenty of time to firm up.
  11. We've used Trip Advisor to find many small group tours in several locations.
  12. @LAFFNVEGASI had read your horror story of transferring through London-then this morning I had a message from Alaska Air that my British Air schedule had been changed. 1 hour and 10 minutes to transfer our flight from Seattle to the flight to Rome. Thank goodness I was able to get it changed! Thank you for the warning.
  13. @Horizon chaser 1957We've already groaned about the ferry systems so had to laugh when you added the post office. I worked at our local office for a little over 30 years and today there was a plea in our local weekly paper for workers. 8 mail routes and only 3 full time carriers-glad I'm retired!
  14. @USN59-79We mailed our return on the 1st of April-so far, nothing. I checked online and no information available. This has happened the last 3 years. I did get smart and sent it certified mail with a return receipt, so I know they have it. Next year you will also get a statement for income from the IRS. You do get interest on your refund when it isn't issued in a timely manner.
  15. I'm on the same cruise as @Anubiand have been trying everything to get through to FlightEase. I even did a chat with Princess to see if they could book my flight. I finally called 877-724-5425 and spoke with someone who could access flights for the cruise. But then it turned out that the Delta flight I wanted was nearly $600 p/p more than on the Delta website.
  16. I thought it was a law that there had to be a junk drawer in every room. We've always had at least 2.
  17. Just got back from Seattle (ferries running and on time-a miracle!) for my 6 week post hip replacement surgery check-up. Everything is where it's suppose to be and I can now drive and get back to normal. Still need to be careful picking up things off the floor and not do anything dumb but so far-so good. Still can't believe how easy it's been-I've been lucky. Now I need to do a grocery run for my niece who lives next door. She's the latest on the Covid list but feeling ok. I did warn her about the terrible taste she'll get when taking the Paxlovid-luckily she had a fresh pack of mints.
  18. 🤣 As I was just saying, the following arrived in my email: The Point Defiance 1:40 p.m. and the Tahlequah 3:10 p.m. are cancelled due to crewing. Updates will occur when more information is available. This alert was sent on 07/18/2022 at 2:59PM to subscribers of the following routes: Pt. Defiance / Tahlequah
  19. @Horizon chaser 1957Welcome to the Washington State Ferry System 😊. At least once a week and sometimes more often, we get the dreaded qualified crew shortage message and sailings are canceled. If we have an early morning flight-or scheduled surgery-we opt for a hotel in Seattle rather than trust trying to get off the island.
  20. @kazuJacqui, we have one garden fenced but the rest of the acreage would be a little pricy to enclose. I use my "deer spray" (in a spray bottle, eggs mixed with water and left to age in the refrig.) and just found a commercial brand that you sprinkle that I hope is working. If they would just leave the lupine alone to grow a bit bigger I think they would be ok. Ah, nature! 🙁😁
  21. @Cruising-alongI envy you your roses and astilbe. The deer have managed to leave me wonderful stalks on the astilbe, and I gave up on roses several years ago. At least they've left the bee balm alone! And I love your sweet peas.
  22. @gigianneI had my reply within 18 hours. I was surprised at how fast the request was processed.
  23. I used Pay Pal. And I paid in Euros. 2 nights ago my 117.80 Euro fare was then charged as $118.48 USD on my BofA credit card. Great exchange rate for us at the moment. Do tickets need to be stamped or validated before boarding? I do plan on being early to roam the station and check things out.
  24. Thanks to everyone for the help and information. I was able to get our Rome/Florence tickets online from the Trenitalia website. Now it will be a matter of finding the correct train at the Rome Terminal station in November. Looking forward to the new adventure!
  25. When I do coleslaw I buy the bag of shredded cabbage and carrot mix and then mix up a dressing. I stir mayo until it's smooth, then add salt and pepper, celery seeds, a bit of apple cider vinegar and a couple of teaspoons of sugar. I'm not sure if adding more sugar would take it to the level you'd like for your sandwich but might be worth a try. Once all is blended and smooth, I add in the cabbage and let it chill for a couple of hours.
