The real question is how many skeins of yarn will the bag hold? 😊

Thanks for the link from the HAL boards. Can't wait for dinner time to arrive!😊

I really don’t mean to be snarky but I keep hoping for an update on the dogs or the ship. Instead it’s something entirely different.

Thanks for all the information. The photo is a bit blurry (on the big screen) but it looks like the date for the 28-day Coral Triangle is incorrect. It was changed quite a while ago to January 4.

What about people playing games or reading during busy meal times in the Lido? Irritating when you're holding your plate and there's no place to sit down.

Here's hoping there's power in the stickers.🤞👀🤷♀️
I wish he’d filmed at 8:30 when the sticker time expired. Or even later when someone finally showed up to claim “their” chair.

I renewed Nexus around the same time, and nothing has happened. The last renewal took only a few days. But they are saying that Nexus applications take 12-14 months, so the grace period is extended.
Ours is a Nexus renewal too. I wonder if that’s the difference?

I just signed in again to check and yes, I was approved through my birthday in 2029. And we received new Global Entry cards shortly thereafter and destroyed the old ones. I did see where they mentioned renewal times were at 4-6 months right now. I have no explanation for our very quick renewal time (1 or 2 days).
Below the green approved stripe in my account it has the new date of expiration 5 years from now.
Lucky you! I will keep checking. At least the old cards are still good. We have several flights scheduled and I'm spoiled with Pre-Check.

@StLouisCruisersI may be off track but I wondered if you had doublechecked your Global Traveler renewal. I started the renewal January 21 and it is still pending. When I go to the page to check, the first thing that comes up is a green approved stripe but if I look closer, it's the old one. I have to scroll to the top of the page to find the current renewal info. Thought I'd ask, just in case.........

Good luck! We'll be on a Holland America cruise through Indonesia in January. Don't think I'm looking forward to the visa process! And there's some kind of arrival paperwork to do for Singapore. Ugh! But cruising is worth it!

Have you checked to see if you can get the visa while on the ship? I think it was on a Holland America post that I saw where the visa could be obtained through the ship.

CJD is a terrible disease. My uncle died of that some 30 years ago. As terrible as dementia is, I think this is even more terrible. My condolences to you to your friend’s family.
It was only 2 weeks from diagnosis until his passing.

Thanks to all for the kind words on the loss of my grade school friend. I did find out he had CJD which shows signs of dementia but is an always fatal brain disease.

And I’m afraid I have to report another sad dementia death. A good friend from grade school/ top graduate of my high school class, has succumbed to a fast onset dementia. A blessing that he and his family didn’t have to suffer through his particular diagnosis.

I think you can call the general Holland America customer service phone number and they will connect you with the correct department.

Have you called to see about getting the new package? Might be worth it or maybe you’d lose more than you’d gain.

@dfishThanks for all the photos. Family trip next month so these added to my anticipation. 9 of us will be 1/2 way between Kona and Hilo for a week.

@oakridgerI'm with you. I hate the napkin waving. I can imagine all the crumbs and germs flying around the room. YUCK! I also agree about the Carnival ships-that was surprising to see.

At least with the dog in a stroller, it won't be running underfoot or into cabins. But still, probably shouldn't be on the ship.

@Denise TSimilar situation but ended better. I was preheating the oven, went to the bedroom to take a load of laundry in to fold later, and came back to find smoke coming from the oven. Somehow, a potholder had fallen into the oven earlier and was smoldering on the element. No flames but a lot of smoke. I tossed the potholder in the sink and turned the fans on. Definitely changed batteries in the smoke alarm since it never turned on.

Who did your DH's surgery? Dr. Jeff Garr at Swedish did mine.
It was at Swedish but the dr. was part of Kaiser.

Here's what's in my back ..
I had no neuro symptoms.
I thought you had mixed up your x-rays with DH.😊 But then realized that his shows bars on either side of 3 vertebrae. Wild what medicine can do! And so far, he doesn't set off the scanner at the airport. Happy to hear recovery is going well.

DH will agree about the chowder. I make geoduck chowder, after he’s been digging the ‘ducks, which beats most all chowders. And I enjoy the plain potato/bacon soup.

I'm not sure but from some of the reports on steaks from the Pinnacle Grill, that butcher knife may be needed. (Sorry, couldn't resist when I saw that item)
