  1. Getting to City cruise terminal - I've checked and there is one other ship in port the day we sail. I will need to pre-book a taxi, or can we walk (is it feasible)? It looks like it is a 7 minute walk from Royal Leonardo Harbor, but we will have 2 pieces of luggage, and I don't know if they allow you to walk anyway. Where do you prebook a taxi? Thanks!!
  2. You are arriving in Athens the day prior to the end of the cruise and "overnighting". Your actual "debarkation" time will be assigned onboard just like any other cruise - you will provide your departure information and be assigned a time based on flights, or you can select to self-debark at the earliest time on the disembark day. If you want to leave the cruise to sight see on the day you arrive in Athens - that's no issue - you will be permitted to leave / come back same as any other port day. If you wish to "disembark" a day early - let guest relations know in advance - as soon as you can (don't bother on day one because there are big lines, but do it on day 2 or so). Reason for this is they have a manifest of passengers / immigration of who is on board, etc that needs to be cleared on the actual disembark day. They will specially handle anyone disembarkation on the day prior.
  3. Even if there is no benefit to you, if it is a sold out sailing and people are wait listed, they may be able to get on if you cancel 30 days out
  4. We booked the 16 night package on Flora. We only paid 200 for air using the promo. Then I paid myself on the airline site to upgrade to econ + seats.
  5. Thank you. I have also seen a post where you (I think it was you) suggested biking down. We may opt for that. My husband is a big mountain bike rider, and I think he would enjoy that as well. I think we rent the bikes in Myrdal??? This is the last stop to figure out 🙂 We have sea kayaking, a bird safari and so much else planned. Only this one stop remains! We have 2 back to back Norway cruises, and the only overlap stop is Flam. First time in Flam, we do the sea kayaking around Naerøyfjord, then we will do the railway on the second cruise when we stop in Flam.
  6. If you want to just walk around in Tromso - check out an app called GPS My City. They have walking tours, and there is one of Tromso. They have the history, maps, etc. Honningsvag - for sure don't wait. Very few tour operators and if you decide to do something, depending on how many other ships are in port, you may miss out.
  7. I am planning to book tickets myself rather than a ship excursion. We are going in July. It looks like I can book roundtrip from Flam to Myrdal or I could also go from Flam to Vatnahalsen. I would like to get out of the train and have a bit of a walk around, then get back on the train and head back to Flam. Does anyone know which is better? I am thinking Vatnahalsen. It seems that Myrdal is just an out/back without time to get out of the train. And if correct, then I am thinking I purchase on vy.no and I can do so about 60 days in advance??? Thanks!
  8. Better is depending on what you like. On embarkation day, you can go in and have a look at the decor of each restaurant. They are each styled differently. They all have some entrees in common, and they have a few special dishes or appetizers - you can see these on the app - but don't bother looking too early or it won't be too accurate. You can typically order whatever from any of the restaurants in any of them as they all share a kitchen. So I would say pick the one that you really like the decor.
  9. We did one and the only difference was we watched some plywood and other of things get loaded on one day. They were going to start some work on the way to dry dock. Nothing different than a usual cruise.
  10. You all are probably upset for no reason. On my last cruise, they were out of all the wines, so since we couldn't actually get wine, no real worries over the cost, right🤣
  11. Thanks @Jim_Iainfor taking us along. I've enjoyed reading your report and all the pictures.
  12. Maybe you can please report back if this is just a temporary situation while they are being replaced.
  13. When you say NO video poker on summit - you mean no "decent" video poker - or literally NO video poker at all? My husband may kill me since I have him booked on 16 nights on the summit, and it used to have video poker.
  14. I don't think this is directed at you personally, but just the general questions....
  15. I sometimes wonder this too. "Would I enjoy XYZ" is hard to answer if you know nothing about a person.
  16. Virgin Voyages is super solo traveler friendly. They have single cabins, and they often schedule events for solo travelers and for other non-solo cabins, they don't do the full 200% markup.
  17. ouch! Time to look at the cruise lines that are more friendly to solo travelers.
  18. So weird one - I was searching my email for for my dental confirmation - and for some reason - it found an old email for my 2022 Transatlantic. I opened it and was shocked at the price. So, just for fun - I decided to play now and then. Since there's been so much talk about price increases lately - I thought it would be interesting to see the difference. Here you go for those interested. No comments from me here - just showing the price difference in "then" and "now" Then - in December 2020 (yes, the pandemic), I booked the 14 day transatlantic on Apex for April 2022. I paid a whopping $5900 for a sunset sky suite. Now - just for fun, I priced a similar transatlantic. I found a 15 day TA on Ascent for April 2025. 14K in a sunset sky suite and a 12 day TA on Apex in Oct 2024 for 13.7K What a difference the "pandemic" "before" and "now" booking make. Then - 14 day TA on Apex in Sunset SS. Today - mock booking 15 night TA on Ascent in Sunset SS Tdday - mock booking 12 night TA on Apex in Sunset SS
  19. They do have a kids club in terms of activities. However, they do not have amenities like Royal in terms of waterparks, amusement park, etc. If you are interested in the kids club for them to have some activities - that exists. If you are interested in participating with them in activities outside of the kids club onboard like you could on Royal - such as waterparks, amusement area, those are not on Celebrity. It is really all oriented to adults. As others have said, there will be other kids onboard at that time of year, so they will certainly be able to make other friends their ages. And there is a pool, but not a shallow / "kids" pool. I believe they may allow families in the Solarium pool during certain hours (normally no children), but if the weather is cool, I think it is allowed during certain hours.
  20. Sign in to your Celebrity account, then beside your name, select Manage Reservation. Next to the cruise you are wondering about, select Plan My Cruise, and you will see the OBC amount on top.
  21. We are on this sailing. We booked 6131 . Hoping that's a good balcony to watch for part of the day.
  22. Yeah, similar happened to me a few years ago and I just had flights by celebrity cancel the air ( which they can do since the airline's changes were not ok with me ( ie it would have been impossible to get to the cruise with the new times) . I got a refund, ( it took a month or so) and I rebooked new tickets on my own. I did have to go an extra day earlier so I also had to get a hotel for an extra night
  23. I would call and have air by celebrity book you on other flights.
