  1. I actually grew up in New Bedford, currently live in a little town near Sturbridge called Brookfield that I have been in since I got divorced 20 years ago. When I worked in retail I was a manager at the Marshalls In Leominster till I got into the corporate office in Framingham. Actually heading to Leominster on Monday as I had to reschedule a mammogram and that was the only place with an opening.
  2. @Cruisewilm,after reading and seeing the pictures @YVRteacher has been posting which look absolutely amazing I am ready to go. When is this trip and what ship?
  3. It seems like this ship has some serious issues. I have done a number of B2B's the latest in February and my coupon book was in the room when they announced they were ready and strawberries were there when we got back from dinner. I think room standards have been going downhill even before they were reduced to once a day service and of course the Pandemic and labor shortages have not helped. I was on the Sun last October and got to my cabin on the first day and there is not one shred of toilet paper. The little thing that holds the roll is in the sink. (thankfully there were tissues) I called housekeeping and they came with 1 roll. On the Dawn in February there never seemed to be extra toilet paper, are people stealing it so they don't want to leave you too much? No excuse to still be waiting to get off the ship as I would not be happy if I had a non NCL excursion planned or just want time to explore. I did look for this itinerary for next year but could not find anything that looks this amazing. Enjoy the rest of your trip and look forward to your amazing pictures.
  4. I agree with you, we did a B2B on the Dawn in February and the first week had a fantastic Reuben, the second week I am not sure what happened but it was something gray and tasted awful.
  5. Your pictures are stunning and I am jealous I am not there. Enjoy the second leg of your trip.
  6. Great honest review. I was on the Escape about 6 years ago and really liked it especially the waterfront area. Clarence (chocolate cowboy) was the bartender and such a sweetheart. I'll be on again in September for the NE/Canada cruise and hoping Choir of Men will still be on the ship. What night was the show as I want to be sure I have my dinner reservations planned right? It does sound like the show was more than one night which helps and do you make reservations once you get on the ship. I was on the Dawn in February on a B2B and have to say O'Sheehans on that ship was pathetic. Both the food and service were not good and we have been many times on previous ships.
  7. Beautiful pictures, I am doing a land tour the second week in November in Iceland so following along. Have to check my itinerary and see where we are stopping and compare to your notes. I have followed some of your other reviews and find them so helpful. Enjoy the rest of your trip and thank you for the beautiful sights.
  8. I sure hope you did not let this bother you all week and took the time to enjoy your cruise. Things happen and we have to deal with them. Also hope you did not remove your gratuities as you had mentioned you were thinking of doing.
  9. I will also add a vote for Los Lobos, we did a B2B in February, one 11 day and a 7 day and on each leg visited Los Lobos which was excellent. Gauc is made table side and was outstanding as was everything else we had there. You did not mention Le Bistro but highly recommned for escargots, french onion soup and either dover sole or the duck. If there is an Ocean Blue would also recommend. Cagneys is very good but food does vary. I am on the Escape in Septemeber and have selected Cagneys, Le Bistro, Ocean Blue and will book Food Republic once on board to try as we have not eaten there yet. Of course its all personal preference. Enjoy!
  10. We will be in Bar Harbor 9/20 and had been eying this trip but did not book, just looked now and neither the 2.5 or 3.5 hour trips are available. Bummer, now what. I have been to Bar Harbor and Acadia a number of times not on a cruise ship but BF has not so I wanted him to see everything we could. Oli's has a 2.5 and 4 hour available has anyone done that? The 4 hour tour begins at 10 we are scheduled to be there 8 to 5 and we do have priority disembarkation so I am thinking we should be good for that time, right?
  11. Instead of a partial transit through Panama Canal I would recommend a full transit. I started in Seattle last October and ended in Miami 20 days later. I would also suggest taking a smaller ship so you can go through the old locks. I do like getting away from the New England cold and usually do a B2B in February either out of Puerto Rico or Florida as a week is not enough.
  12. I just got home 2 days ago from Scotland and Switzerland and learned about a Hugo and was planning on telling you about it once I caught up on your review and voila here it is. It was so refreshing especially since it was quite warm in Switzerland.
  13. Sid, you really should pursue something with photography as you have such a knack for capturing sites. The buildings you shoot always come out amazing, I could take a picture and it would not look like this.
  14. Will be following along but will have to catch up mid June when I return home as I leave Monday for Scotland and Switzerland, non cruise vacation. Have a great time.
  15. I had an offer at the end of the year spend 1000 get 350 back and I combined that with the promo NCL was running when you could use 3 CN on a balcony. That final payment is coming due so hoping an offer will appear on 1 of my AMEX cards again which would be super nice.
  16. Totally agree, was just getting ready to write the same thing.
  17. Looks like great weather for your sail way. I think my last time on Celebrity was on the Zenith from NYC to Bermuda in the late 90's. Have a great time and as always look forward to following along.
  18. Look forward to your review as its been a long time since I have been on Celebrity. Have a blast!
  19. Since you know these people and are so experienced why would you have not passed along some advise about purchasing insurance? What does your being loyal with a cruise line have to do with them?
  20. @sid_9169nice to see you smiling and looking happy. Did you book a cruise with JinxyB?
  21. Ha ha, yes, I was going to ask for the kids menu but didn't think he could pass for 12.😉 It was a disappointing tour, theater, laundry and brief kitchen stop with 2 groups of 15 each and lasted less than 45 minutes. I had done 2 quite a few years ago and saw a lot more.
  22. I was just on the Dawn and I am Platinum and BF wasn't and he could not go. I couldn't even send him in my place.
  23. Finally finished catching up, great review as always, now I can unfinish packing from my cruises. Hard to get back in the groove after being away for 3 weeks, at least I got the laundry done.
  24. OMG.. just got caught up. I was on page 20 when I left for my B2B on the Dawn. Paid bills, then onto CC to read this review. Amazing as always as you have such a talent for writing and photography. Guess there was a new twist on this review that brought some smiles to your face so glad to see that. Now to catch up on the Tribe and @Saint Greg's review.
