  1. Nail scissors, i had to buy some in italy and they cost a fortune they went home in the hold luggage lol. I have no idea whatsoever what wallet ninjas are and no wish to as obvs i dont need them in my life lol!!
  2. You maybe got lucky i have had them confiscated and they are listed by most airlines.
  3. Same as all flying all sharps in hold luggage note this includes knitting needles, crochet hooks, Swiss multi tool etc anything with the potential to stab or injure aircrew or equipment. HTH
  4. This will be the first time i believe that Marella have sailed in the States so it will all be new and I doubt anyone can yet tell you how it all works, you may have to wait until somebody comes back from one of the first trips earlier in the year. And as Alan says above how all the paperwork will work i suggest you give Marella a call. HTH
  5. Heads up UK ladies, super 'frock' sale at Kaleidoscope especially good discounts on Monsoon See https://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/sale/dresses/occasion-dresses/going-out-dresses/_/N-1z141tkZ1z141prZ1z141wkZ1z1404fZ1z13t9f?No=96&refined=leftnav&plptype=resultslist&showMeItems=48 Enjoy x
  6. Ditto as we usually fly cruise so by time we get to the ship we've been travelling for hours and look grim and just want to check in showered change.
  7. I concur April in the Med can be hit and miss especially the Western Med. By all means take the sundresses but take some long sleeved T's and thick pantyhose to go with them lol 😆 defo pack a raincoat and umbrella. Enjoy x
  8. That's the one I'm looking at on Voyager it appears she is very much like Ex2 which would suit us fine. 👍🙂
  9. Really it's just same as a normal holiday but a must for me are towel clips as it gets breezy on deck when ship is sailing and you might want to take a more dressy outfit for DTI night than you might normally take on your hols. Hth Enjoy 😉
  10. By fancy dress I assume you mean what we in the UK call a dressy evening gown/dress. Fyi fancy dress in the UK means dressing up like a clown or TV/film character. Love white nights I have a mid length white dress which can be accessorised endlessly. Enjoy yourself 👍🙂
  11. If you go on Vinted you can filter clothes from brands that no longer trade Debut by Debenhams is one of my go to there are some marvellous bargains to be had, most new with tags or worn once for a special do. I got a beautiful black and white Julien Mcdonald dress for £10. Also have a look on line at John Lewis sale now on 👍
  12. First night understandable if luggage not arrived but i still put a collared shirt for DH and smart top for me in our carry on for such an occurrence, however on QV last August there was imo a poor standard of dress on the last night, there were some outfits not even suitable for doing the gardening or putting the bins out! Imo its easy to leave out of the main luggage a pair of chinos and collared shirt for a chap and likewise for a lady a pair of trousers and smart top which can be rolled up to go in a carry on. The lower halves could easily be used to travel home in. Been a couple of articles in the papers recently about dress standards in life in general based on the demise of kiwi show polish and job interview standards.
  13. It depends on your needs especially re health. We have used Staysure previously but intend to shop around as i have had recent spine surgery and DH skin cancer. Make sure you get cruise specific insurance with covid cover too. We normally get an annual policy it can work out better if you travel a lot. We paid £309 for last years.
  14. On QV in Aug Britannia class we got pol acker. Very nice imo so long as served very cold in chilled glasses. 😀
  15. Unfortunately we only do 7nts looking at just over 2k for 2 of us 7nts med cruise start oct.
  16. Looking at Voyager for later in the year. She's a Century class ship so same as Ex2 & Ex. We really loved Ex2 and we can fly from.our local 9 miles away airport win win.we also have a £200 credit for covid cancelled cruise and there's £300 off and £100pp deposit. So really tempted. Anyone else?
  17. Have to agree I would be considered a petite lady and I struggled let alone my DH who is defo not petite 😛😉 I hope they've taken into account in their design that people these days are on the whole more generously proportioned. 🙂
  18. It's -7c here in Yorkshire no snow thank goodness but everything is proper frozen. Have arms like an orangutan from carrying buckets of water to the Livestock. Hard being a farmer in winter. Oh to be on a queen sipping something fizzy. 🥂🍾
  19. On our med cruise in mid may 2019 we had a lot of rain!! Some of you may remember my review the one where i discovered my Sketchers were not waterproof!! So make sure you take waterproof footwear, a foldaway raincoat and a small umbrella for excursions. I have since purchased waterproof sketchers but have yet to put them to the test!! As mentioned by cruisemom42 above for visiting churches or religious sites you will need a shoulder cover up as a miniumum, a pashmina or large cotton scarf will suffice. HTH
  20. On Marella there is usually D2I once a week on a sea day. Most people make the effort you do see some tux and duits but most it's smart collared shirt and trousers for men and cocktail frocks for ladies. In the carribean it may be a bit more casual smart tailored shorts and summer maxi dresses for ladies hth Enjoy will think of you whilst I'm mucking pigs out on Xmas morning xx
  21. I do like to see all the decorations but it seems to get earlier every year bah humbug so my trees up............up in the attic where its staying until week before the big hohoho!!😅
  22. We did the fjords on QV in August and can highly recommend. We just did a balcony in Brittania class and you can read my review in the QV reviews section of CC. Never fancied P&O, did look at it but couldnt cope with monsters like Brittania and Iona not for us plus they seemed to be subject to cancellations of ports very regularly for 'operational reasons' and this put us off. Whatever grade you choose on Cunard you will have a super time.
  23. I thought I saw it she would be there next couple year so assumed she'd be taking over from QE as she's redeployed to med?? Hey I may have dreamed it but sure it was announced as the plan for her 🤔🤔crossed posted with @david,Mississauga
  24. Also waiting on 2025 schedules as I'll be celebrating God willing my 60th and if he spares DH too our 40th anniversary so its a big year for us. I'm liking Alaska which likely will be on the new beastie Anne or the land of Oz & NZ spoilt for choice I'm sure 😀 fingers crossed we stay healthy and wealthy until then 😀 😊 😉
