  1. We had to put down 900 with the TA. They said it was fully refundable up until final payment date.
  2. Of course I will follow. It seems like such a long way off, I was surprised to find a roll call started so soon. We have one more cruise booked, Sept 2023 on Oceania. Bermuda Bliss. NY to Bermuda.
  3. Once again, we'll be following you like we did on Reflection. We booked Feb 25th, 24 Great Barrier Reef.
  4. Even for Luminae? The veggies tasted pretty fresh to me. The broccoli/cauliflower/asparagus all appeared to be fresh cooked from raw.
  5. We were in a Suite in September on Reflection. I live blogged and posted a lot of food pics. The veggies seemed fresh in Luminae. I did notice a lot of items were of a lower quality in the buffet. Namely, they switched from Albacore tuna to chunk " light". We decided we were not going to cruise X anymore and we took a Feb 2022 cruise on Oceania. We loved it. We both thought the food was much better. This cruise on Reflection last month used FCC and it was going to be our last. Unfortunately, we want to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef in Feb 2024 and Celebrity had the better itinerary than O and a very reasonable price. So, now we get to try the Edge class. Honestly, I don't cruise for the food. I know a lot of people do, but after having weight loss surgery, food is just food. Its fuel for my body and that is it. At home, I chose to eat mostly organic, pasture raised eggs and chicken. I know that won't happen on any cruise, so I deal with it.
  6. FYI, we live in Santa Clarita. We do cheapairportparking.org. Drive ourselves and pay about 100 a week to park.
  7. I voiced the same concerns before our Reflection cruise last month. This was our first time in a Sky Suite as well. My wife is super picky and while I consider myself a "foodie", there are still a lot of things I don't eat( organ meats, red meat, etc). I did blog about our cruise and posted numerous food pics. I was able to modify my meals. I would replace a side dish, leave a sauce off, etc. My wife ate a lot of kids filet mignon. LOL. I think you'll be fine, they were very accommodating.
  8. We notified our butler( we were in a suite) on board. I had brought some decorations and asked the butler to please put it up. He also added about 10 balloons. He notified the restaurant and they provided a cake.
  9. I guess we were lucky, we used FCC and lift and shift and our cruise was about 9500 for 10 days, with 1800 OBC. 1k from Celebrity and 800 from our TA. The 800 was refundable. I looked at cruises next spring for Caribbean on Celebrity( in a suite) and the prices were much, much higher. More than we wanted to spend. We chose to spend a week at a resort in Aruba instead.
  10. How long are you in Toronto? If you like mustard, visit the Mustard Man at St. Lawrence Market. He makes numerous flavors, I love them.
  11. My wife also came home positive from our Sept 16th reflection cruise.
  12. We were looking at a Caribbean cruise for next Spring. Prices were double what 8 nights at an all inclusive in Aruba costs. We decided to book that, stay put at the resort and enjoy a relaxing week. Even if we decide not to do the all inclusive( 300 extra a night), the room rate was 279 for a triple A rate at the Renaissance wind creek( and I'll earn Marriot points).
  13. We sailed Reflection last month from Rome( Sept 16). I did post a live blog with many pics of food. I had to ask what the fish was. Most times, I was told " Tilapia". Which, if you're not aware is a FARMED in Vietnam/China fish. The water standards there are super low, so I chose not to ingest that fish. The roasted chicken was super dry. The carved turkey was dry. The pasta casseroles that were served were tasteless. I never add salt to food, but I had to numerous times at the buffet. I tend to like the vegetarian Indian dishes, but this time they were way too spicy for me. Food is very subjective. We dined in Luminae( our first time in a suite) and while I thought it was good, it didn't blow me away. A lot of it was very "fancy", food that we don't eat. Pheasant, chicken liver mouse, beef tartar. The fish dishes I had were decent. ( check out my pics) We tried Oceania last Feb for the first time, I thought the food and desserts were a lot better. The miso glazed cod at Red Ginger was one of the best seafood dishes I've ever had. The baked goods were great.( I bake so I'm extra picky). The cheese selection wasn't great. Mozzarella is not meant to be cut into cubes and served with crackers. There was no goat cheese on the buffet as there has been in the past.
  14. I was pretty disappointed in the buffet last month on Reflection. The food was highly underseasoned. They switched from Albacore tuna salad to the nasty chunk light. The desserts are just so, so bad. I don't waste calories on any dessert at the buffet( except a scoop of ice cream in a coke zero)
  15. We flew to Rome for our cruise last month. Jet lag was ROUGH. We missed our first pre-cruise bike tour because we overslept. Once home, my wife got covid the next day and It took me a week to get over the jet lag. I was falling asleep at 7:30pm every night.
  16. Is Shaq's that good? We're getting one in Santa Clarita shortly.
  17. We were on Reflection in September too. I wasn't that impressed with the food( we dined in Luminae and OV). The ports were ok, everything was too rushed for my liking. We had a cruise( not on X) scheduled for July 2023. We decided to cancel and spend half the money on an all inclusive resort in Aruba. We like be able to stay put for a week and relax. My wife came down with Covid the day after we returned home. This, despite getting our 5th booster a week before we left. I managed to avoid it. The elevators were PACKED. Lots of coughing people. The room next to ours were quarantined almost the entire cruise.
  18. That is a very sad looking fish taco. Did you ask for "just fish"?
  19. Yes!!!. We walked off with our luggage at 6:30am. We were in a Suite so we met at Michael's club and went out a "special door". Our transportation was waiting for us, it took 45 min to get to the airport. We got thru security quickly and even had time to sit in the American Airlines lounge and have breakfast. We arrived at the lounge around 8:45am. We didn't have to go through any other immigration process. Unfortunately, our flight to JFK was delayed by almost 2 hours so we missed our connection to LAX. Typical Murphy's law. We shared Rome Cab( a large sprinter van) with another couple who had a 10am flight and they made their flight too.
  20. You were the inspiration for bringing it.
  21. On our Reflection cruise 2 weeks ago, I brought an Aeropress and my own organic coffee. I made it at night and then made iced coffee in the morning.
