  1. That would be a big NO. We are planning on taking the yankee clipper to the dry tortugas and going snorkeling. That is about enough adventure for me.
  2. Julie and I are currently at a resort in Aruba, haven't read this entire thread. Do you know what you have planned for Key West? We're heading there in June. I came to the boards to see if anyone on Equinox was vlogging. She is expected here on Thursday. Weather is gorgeous.
  3. We'll be on the Feb 25th Great Barrier Reef sailing!! So excited.
  4. If there is one thing I learned from your review, is NOT to take a cruise during Spring Break. I would be irritated as I don't like to cruise with a lot of kids.
  5. How fun. I'm re-living my january London trip through your pictures. Borough market was my favorite, we went twice, one on an official food tour. There is some amazing food in that market. If you go again, try the humble crumble.
  6. Have you seen the You Tuber who lives on Svalbard? Its super interesting. Her name is Cecilia Blomdahl and she vlogs about life on that remote island. She lives in Longyearbyen.
  7. What is a DL in measurement? My family( Ashkenazi Jew) also makes a sour cream cucumber salad. Last summer, I made a different recipe for a apple cider vinegar/sugar cucumber salad, I took it to 3 BBQ's/Pool parties and there was not a drop left. Everyone remembers them from childhood, but not a lot of my friends cook!!
  8. What does Mr think of the cakes? I know Norway has some wonderful pastry/cafe's. I'm a baker and I find the cakes tasteless.
  9. You can request a fruit/cheese plate for your canapes. We do that every single time we're in Aqua. You also need to request some crackers( I always say " no saltines").
  10. Awww, the sweet pup picture breaks my heart!!
  11. We are in the Los Angeles area. Where Magic Mountain is. Santa Clarita. I do know the muscocas. Great price.
  12. Taking our boys( 2 standard poodles and a dachshund) to the sitter is one of the most stressful parts of vacation. We're also pet sitters so this was interesting to hear about. We specialize in Poodles/Doodles and we're very, very busy!! Do you mind if I ask how much she charged? I'm curious about prices in different parts of the world. I lived in Exeter, ON for 8yrs. I was having flashbacks to many winter drives to Pearson. Glad you made it safely.
  13. I have YET to see any power up points. LOL. I played all during the pandemic.
  14. So, I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale.( in the 70's). Publix's slogan was/is " Where shopping is a pleasure". Still love Publix when we visit Marco Island. Prices are high now because its "high" season. It drops significantly in the summer.
  15. I follow your X cruises and I'll follow this one. We were in London in Jan/early Feb and we loved it so much. We stayed at Hampton Waterloo. We're going back at the end of November and going to Paris for 4 days. We were supposed to go to Paris for 1 day, but we cancelled as the Eiffel Tower and public transport was on strike. ( seems like they have a lot of strikes).
  16. We've taken 5 cruises on X. 4 were in Aqua, 1 was in a suite( great price due to cancellations in 2020/2021. We didn't have a retreat sun deck since we were on Reflection last September. We recently booked an OV room for Eclipse in October. It was super inexpensive and since we live in LA, we can drive to the port. I have to admit, it will be strange not to eat in Aqua, although a lot of the meals we ate on previous cruises were in OV café because of excursions. I don't think we'll feel out of place.
  17. 2 couples left in Florence ( stop before Rome) last September. We met them on an excursion and they told us they received permission to do this. They were heading to Florence after the cruise ended.
  18. We were on the Reflection in September. Our last stop before Rome was Florence. Two couples left in Florence.
  19. GeoBlue won't get you home? They will only get you to a hospital?
  20. I'm 56, wife is 61. We have never taken the insurance. This year we purchased a yearly policy as we have 8 trips scheduled( 2 cruises, the rest by air). My wife came down with HORRENDOUS food poisoning ( bad Chinese food) the night before a Feb 2022 cruise( on Oceania). She didn't want to take the cruise. She was pooping and vomiting hours before we had to drive to the port. I said " We don't have insurance and we're not losing 10k". Suck it up. I told her she'd be better in 24hrs. We took the cruise and she was better the next day. She didn't eat anything for almost 24hrs. I think if we had insurance, we might have cancelled.
  21. We didn't have it in our September 2022 Reflection Sky Suite. I wouldn't have used it, had we received it. I'm picky about my products.
  22. Hi. My TA didn't say there were none available. When I went to price the cruise before contacting my TA, the website showed NO verandas( I did think that was strange). We have another cruise on Oceania in September and a Celebrity cruise( Aqua) in February 2024( Great Barrier Reef) along with a trip to London/Paris in December, so I wanted to keep this cost down. This will be a new experience for us. I hope the weather is great so we can spend more time outside the room. Or, if the move up offer is low, we'll go for a balcony.
