  1. I would love to know this answer too. I'm an excellent baker, having attended culinary school. So, I guess you can say I am complaining about the cookies. Cookies are so easy to make. I'm assuming O doesn't use real butter.
  2. Anyone know about Hamilton or St. George Bermuda?
  3. I sure did. I tipped him very well. I also tipped the room attendant and his assistant.
  4. We had a great butler( Ellie) in a Sky Suite last September on Reflection. She brought my ice tray, and my half and half every morning. She brought us desserts from Luminae. That was all we asked of her. She refilled beverages, in room ice/water without us asking. We tipped her well.
  5. For a NY'er( like myself), the pizza is acceptable, but not amazing. At home, I always order my thin crust pizza more well done.
  6. I'm glad I don't eat beef. The turkey burgers are kind of sad too.
  7. What kind of soda( coke or pepsi) is on the soda package?
  8. Thank you so much. So, basically, we will just do beach snorkeling on our own? No excursions needed? What beaches would you recommend?
  9. First time in Bermuda in September 2023. Going on Oceania. Here is the schedule. We want to snorkel. Will we have to take a Ferry to Kings Wharf for snorkeling? I can't find any snorkel excursions on Sunday. Please help 22-Sep-23 FRI ST. GEORGE, BERMUDA 2:00 PM 1:00 PM 23-Sep-23 SAT ST. GEORGE, BERMUDA 24-Sep-23 SUN ST. 10. I think you're going to be sadly disappointed. My friend is currently on your cruise. He's traveling alone. He's a baker like me, I told him to avoid the cakes at the buffet.
  11. I would say NO. Prices are higher and they reduced quality. They went from Albacore tuna down to chunk light( cat food tuna). That is a downgrade.
  12. I need to check this out. Our roll call is having a difficult time finding a charter for Airlie Beach that will provide a full refund if our port is cancelled. They all want 50 payment up front and they won't mention anything regarding missing the port.
  13. When is your cruise? We're on the Feb 25, 2024 GBR cruise.
  14. Right. In ever singly live blog I've done, I've spoken about my weight loss surgery and how we don't cruise for the food. Food is fuel for me. I get full pretty quickly and I eat small portions. I'd never pay for a specialty restaurant(I did before surgery), I wouldn't get my money's worth. I've been asked " then why do you cruise". Cruising is about much more than the food. We did take an Oceania cruise( and we have another booked) and I enjoyed the food, but if there were the same exact itineraries on O and X and O was a lot more $$, I'd chose X. Same price, I'd chose O. We just took a land vacation in Aruba. We did all inclusive. I'd never do that again. While I thought the food was awful, I definitely did not eat 150.00 worth of food a day( and I don't drink).
  15. I had weight loss surgery almost 10yrs ago. I only eat 2-3 bites of a dessert. I hate wasting so my spouse and I will share one( if they appeal to us). Luminae had the best desserts I've had on Celebrity.
  16. We will be on the Oct 28th eclipse out of LA as well.
  17. That was one day out of 10. Are you calling me a liar?
  18. dry proteins( chicken, turkey), tuna was switched to chunk light from albacore. Over cooked veggies, less choice in many stations.
  19. We had our first Oceania sailing in Feb 2021. I thought the food quality was 50x better than X. There were only 338 people on the cruise too. We ate in the specialty restaurants every night. We have our next O sailing this September. It will be interesting to see if its as good as I remember.
  20. @Jim_Iain Can you try the buffet? ( Take one for the team) and report back!! On our Reflection cruise in September, I thought the buffet was terrible. The quality on some items was downright poor. I don't even touch the desserts.
  21. I agree. I'm a baker. So nothing is worth the calories.
  22. In the past, we've ordered virgin drinks and they've contained alcohol. I think the bartenders are so used to making alcoholic drinks. Just sniff them first.
  23. Exactly. In April and May of 2020, we flew from LAX to FLL for 85.00 ROUND TRIP. No one was flying, lots of availability. Now, a round trip from LAX to MIA is about 475.00.
  24. A taste!! A cruise introduces you to cities that you might want to go back and visit on your own. For instance, we first came to Aruba on a X cruise, we came back( here now) to stay at a resort for a week. The price was equal to a cruise, but we wanted to stay put here the entire time.
