  1. We took Sky Princess on December 16 then switched to Emerald Princess on December 23, both out of Fort Lauderdale. We did not have medallions, we were blue on the 'old' app, we did not have any type of electronic boarding pass, just passports and a paid up reservation. Lines to board were pretty lengthy and I noticed little if any differnce between blues and greens. Just go and you'll be processed without any problems. Old and new apps work fine on the ships... at least for us.
  2. Of course we don't. Way too much speculation going on here and, in my opinion, there's not much in the way of 'sensible' that can be offered for what is very likely (as you outlined) a more complicated scenario than any of us understand.
  3. I don't know where Norwegian Star will dock but the last time we went to Cork we tied up at the Cobh Cruise Terminal which is well outside Cork and certainly not handy to the 215 bus. If that's the case, best to book an excursion.
  4. I think I had a problem like this a few years ago. If I remember correctly, I simply signed up again with Princess and eventually was linked back to my account through my Captain's Circle number.
  5. Doesn't the Princess Cruises Rewards Visa Card go a long ways towards addressing this?
  6. An expectation with no basis in fact. Having the time and money to cruise says nothing about the character of the cruiser; you alluded to selfish behaviour...
  7. I guess flip-flops are considered shoes? Apparently, they meet safety requirements at breakfast and lunch; I see no reason that inner would be any more dangerous and the f-fs ought to fully satisfactory of that is the criterion.
  8. Hmmm... I guess I should have included half a dozen emojis to convey a bit of tongue-in-cheek.
  9. I don't see the logical connection here but I do respect your right to tip how and when you please.
  10. That's the spirit! Let's not forget the evil villains who haven't yet figured out the purpose of hand-washing locations too.
  11. Although there are more non-stops to YVR from YYZ than YOW, depending on your schedule and time of year, you may want to think about Ottawa. The drive is easier and parking cheaper.
  12. As a new perk, maybe Elite Plus can get their laundry back within 48 hours.

    Entry fee

We were 8n Cartagena yesterday, December 26, on Emerald Princess and no entry fee process in place for Canadians.
  14. No, I do not disagree; how do you propose balancing the supply/demand given the boundary conditions of available space?
  15. How many do you estimate that may be? Please show your calculations.
  16. Just to report back. We were in Cartagena today on the Emerald Princess and not a peep on the fee for Canadians entering Colombia. I don't believe we were exempt but the logistics of collecting the fee from Canadian cruise ship passengers are probably onerous and the thing is likely targeted at air passengers.
  17. That sounds reasonable to me. My problem with post #5 is the suggestion that the Australian based crew do not receive a share of the fleet gratuity pool; this seems unfair annd unlikely to me.
  18. That's two questions; you just forgot the interrogative on the first one. I don't know anybody who fits the zero tip bill but imagine there are some and they probably do it more often than not.
  19. That's an ineresting theory (I hesitate to label it a fact). What would happen in the admittedly unlikely event that 75% of the passengers on a cruise come from NA? Don't you think the Aus based crew will get a share of all those non-fare gratuities added to the fleet pool?
