  1. Regent loyalty - as best I can tell no "free cruise" after X number of days. On Seabourn we got 14 days after 250 sailed - which we used as part of our very expensive Antarctica cruise. Even though we have not been particularly happy with our last couple of Seabourn cruises (mostly due to staffing issues) we will sail with them a few more times as we are within reach of another 14 day complimentary and could already have a 7 day one.
  2. Asked my TA blocked view had already looked at Rssc and doesn't an6it. Thanks for nothing
  3. Foxy's is more low-key and an easy walk from the pier
  4. TK in Colonnade have always been, since we were on one of the first trial runs, served "family style" but you can always, as we do. ask for more of what ever course you want. Slow service is a different story and likely due to under staffed and / or loss of the former crew - due to C19 or more likely other lines taking them away (on Scenic 80% of hotel crew on our June cruise were some of the best ex-Seabourn crew, many of whom we knew and more who knew us)
  5. don't see how it is any different from sending it directly to Seabourn or RSSC or who knows else we will sail with, Just showing a statement with only the investment needed everything else black marker over.
  6. We just send them a scanned copy - with everything blacked out except the CCL and # of shares and name on the account, My great agent has NO access to anything else but that. NO idea as to the value of the account, gains, etc.
  7. It depends on the policy. The one we buy covers 1 trip cancellation up to a limit $ per person inside of the coverage policy time, plus medical / evac coverage which are tied to a $ amount. We also book on CC's that have high limits on trip insurance so we have backstops. Depends on how much you research the options and know how it all can work. YMMV.
  8. We have done 2 post C19 shutdown cruises on Seabourn. Yes it was NOT the same as pre-C19, and the last cruise in November was disappointing, but due to what we experienced in the past, mostly a lack of staffing and poor usage of staff. A pitiful HD that was hired from the former Crystal who was invisible and didn't recognize the problems that could have been addressed had he been engaged. Never even made an effort to meet us, typical of my 1 experience on Crystal ocean.
  9. Seabourn, at least in theory*, treats all pax the same regardless of the price paid / suite booked. We have always liked that about Seabourn. And over 20 cruises have never felt a need to book a high end suite, although I suppose if someone plans on spending most of their cruse isolated then it might make sense. On Seabourn you can be talking to someone stretching their budget to sail on a luxury line or next to a famous very rich person, both will talk to you and you can enjoy their company. Sometimes meet an entitled person, I guess as the original poster thought they were. *Treating the crew with respect means they will insure they take great care of you. Being nasty will not get you the best attention, although they will still try to make you happy.
  10. We buy a full year policy. MUCH cheaper than a trip at a time and covers not just cruises, but rental cars, land-based vacations, etc.
  11. Question for anyone who knows: (sorry if this was answered in the 20 pages) on Splendor is the veranda deck size in 700 the same as say 704? Thanks.
  12. You were lucky with the weather when we were there on Seabourn the heavens opened. We had a rented boat with 2 other couples and 1/2 thru we got totally soaked and wind.
  13. We stayed at the Intercontinental last time pre-cruise (not Regent). I thought it was over rated. Packed with people at a convention, too loud to hang out at the bar at night. Stayed at the Hyatt in Coral Gables post cruise and it was a great location and hotel. Have also stayed at the Ritz w/ Marriott points and many, many years ago at the Marriott in South Beach. Staying at the Regent hotel in March, same one in Coral Gables.
  14. We always arrive at least 1 day prior or more if flying to another continent. First cruise we did, leaving in January from Miami, based on flights we could book we arrived a day early. There was a big snow storm in the Noth East and we subsequently met multiple folks who had planned to arrive the day the ship left only to have to catch up 3 days later.
  15. Tervor Potts who was on our cruise was part of that recreation, the stories were amazing he told.
  16. That is the cruise we will be on. Multiple reasons, we love Hawaii usually (until C19) went between 2 and 4 times a year for over 30 years. Have been back a few times the last 2 years. Plus a lot of sea days, which I enjoy as just a way to relax and unwind, but also IMO a good way to judge a cruise line I am trying for the first time since the crew will need be taking care of a full ship all day long for multiple days. When we get closer will have to connect on the roll call and meet up on the ship. BTW, nice handle!
  17. We are so looking forward to our Vancouver R/T and hoping it lives up to the hype. Could be a great new line going forward with what they are trying to do. Hope they can get enough experienced crew to make it actually work to deliver.
  18. I second that, we had no issues getting reservations. Great food and crew!!
  19. IMO crew should walk around at say 7 and 8 and put cards on chairs that are "reserved" If at 8 no butt in chair w/ 7 card then remove stuff. IF AT 9, SAME. Then every 45 minutes or so HD or another comparable level senior crew does the same. So you put a book at 8:30 and not there at 9:15 your book is gone and someone else can have it. Problem solved pretty quickly. actually better do not put something on the chair rather a notepad so guilty party does not try to game the system.
  20. May have missed it, so excuse me if I did, but Vince Flynn is one of my favorite authors the ultimate get the bad guy with his own baggage Mitch Rapp.
  21. ANYTHING by Jeffery Archer. Going back to Not a Penny More Not a Penny less, the Prision dairies, (Incredibly interesting) short stories, never a bad book by him. The man knows how to write to capture the reader. Totally agree about the Clifton Chronicles.
