Oceania cruisers visit ports in China, Myanmar, Russia and other countries with questionable human rights policies. Yet a thread about Cuba gets filled with a disproportionate number political statements. Why bother with the inevitable and predictable posts for each side's point of view? Neither side is going to convince the other. Each thread is a clone of the previous one and a preview of future ones. Sigh.

For those having done Cuba, what tours would you recommend?
In May we had a very informative and fun time on our Oceania excursion to Trinidad. We also had a great time when we went on an Oceania excursion to El Cobre (when we were docked in Santiago de Cuba) where we got to listen to a fantastic metal drum band.

See post #28?
May 8 day Cuba cruise on Oceania Sirena.
We also did own our own in Havana, a private 3 hour tour in a pink Cadillac covertable @ $45.
Enjoy. Don’t let whatever your opinion of Cuban politics get in the way of enjoying Cuba. Keep an open mind. We interacted with warm, and friendly Cuban locals.
Good luck.

So nothing has changed.
We went on four private tours , used four different cars and drivers ate in two privately owned restaurants.
Every penny we spent went directly to the Cuban people.
No nothing has changed.
