Don’t put them in your mouth.

Don't shake hands. We just returned from a 25 night cruise on a ship that had 4 out breaks of flu (nor norovirus but the ship still went into "Code Red") since September. Our cruise was illness free. Why? One reason could be that the Captain implemented a no hand shaking policy. She explained that many germs/bacteria live in the palm of your hands.

So, instead of shaking hands, we did fist bumping, elbow bumping, etc. It actually became fun after a while. Of course, this is in addition to washing hands and using the antibiotic gel that is available on the ship.

We have been on quite a few HAL ships that either were in Code Red when we got on the ship or went into Code Red while we were cruising.

Not fun to be in Code Red for days at a time.

So far we have never gotten the virus.

Good information.

Remember those door knobs are very bad for germs.

Unfortunately you cannot 100% prevent noru virus but you can take steps to minimize the odds of getting it.
