meansun Posted February 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2009 We were on the Voyager last week and my DW won a 7 night cruise. We opted to take another cruise in the end of March. Does anyone know how long it takes RC to confirm the cruise and get back with us? Thanks in Advance!

kaseyoz Posted February 13, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2009 That is fantastic news. I don't think I have ever won anything like a cruise, now that is worth playing for. I wonder if they would pay for the airfare if I won?

Does anyone know how long it takes RC to confirm the cruise and get back with us? Thanks in Advance! When I won a couple of years ago I sent in my information priority mail, and I had an email from them with my options in less than a week. If you have not heard anything in a couple of weeks I would give them a call. Congrats!

If you have not heard anything in a couple of weeks I would give them a call.Congrats! I'm curious how this works, if you win a cruise. Do you have to go on the cruise of their choice? Or is it credit towards the next cruise you decide to book. Also, would it be a balcony/suite? Or something at the minimum price. My DW plays bingo on every cruise and I often wondered about this. cruisinmom2 Posted February 13, 2009 #9 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Congratulations, meansun--what an anniversary gift! We were sitting beside you that day when you won. Wish I had some prior experience with winning a cruise to answer your question! Enjoy your March cruise!
MelindaF Posted February 13, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Congratulations Gary! Wish Jim and I could be sailing again so soon but our luck wasn't with us on the cruise. That turned out to be quite an anniversary celebration!:D

Or is it credit towards the next cruise you decide to book. Also, would it be a balcony/suite? Or something at the minimum price. My DW plays bingo on every cruise and I often wondered about this. I don't know if it is the same for every ship, but when I won I received a certificate good for a 7 day caribbean cruise for 2, minimum available oceanview. There were blackout dates (all major holidays, spring break, and June and July) which cornered us intp going in early August - hubby and I are teachers. We were responsible for our own transportation to and from port, taxes, fees, and all onboard expenses. We decided to pay an extra $150 per person and upgrade to a balcony. Cruiselady1229 Posted February 13, 2009 #13 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Congratulations on winning a cruise..we always play while on a cruise. The closest that we got was down to one number:(. I was getting so excited but, when you have about 12 people standing up at the same time the odds were not good. Have a great time on your FREE CRUISE.:D
klfhngr Posted February 13, 2009 #14 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Did they mention the part about you having to sleep in the boiler room?!?
Rancher Dave Posted February 13, 2009 #15 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Congrats. Definitely worth checking about upgrade pricing when you get it set up. It sometimes does take a while for them to respond, although they usually work them in the order of the requested sailings. As was mentioned likely you have lots of specific black-out dates etc... mation101 Posted February 13, 2009 #16 Share Posted February 13, 2009 We won a bingo cruise in 03. If I remeber right: we got a paper that day with the info on it. We had to take the cruise within a year, there were restrictions on which ports we could leave out of, there were several, but Alaska as not one of them, they were mostly ports that did Caribbean itineries. We called our TA and she booked it for us. We didnt get C&A points though. Make sure if you do get any paperwork you make copies and keep them until after you get home. Hopefully it will all go smoothly and congrats for winning. We have won bingo so much it has paid for several cruises
FinallyConvincedDH2Cruise Posted February 14, 2009 #17 Share Posted February 14, 2009 Lucky they were still doing it! On the 11/29/08 Indy cruise they didn't do the free cruise bingo. I asked the woman who ran bingo and she said they are slowly getting rid of it.
rodandhope Posted February 14, 2009 #18 Share Posted February 14, 2009 Congrats. We won a free 5 nighter last year on Grandeur. Our CD said we could upgrade, so we asked the phone agent if we could pay the upgrade to a 7 day. The agent told us that we could only go for as long as the certificate stated. Not being one to give up, I did some internet research, and found this website. I also found the name and e-mail address of the Cruise Certificate Redemption Coordinator. I e-mailed her and she called me the next day. She took our information, and told us how to proceed. We ended up paying $150 each for an upgrade to a 7 day, and we also got upgraded from oceanview to a balcony. We head out on Voyager on Feb.22! I don't know how the wife and I will be able to stand waiting for another whole week. So, I feel like I owe alot to this website, so I am going to pass on her info to you. I hope you have as good of luck as we did. Anna Maria Marrero Cruise Certificate Redemption Coordinator Amarrero@RCCL.com Good luck, and have a great time on your free cruise. meansun Posted February 14, 2009 Author #20 Share Posted February 14, 2009 Thanks Everyone! Melinda, Karen and I certainly enjoyed hanging with you in the CL. CruisinMom2, did you happen to catch my comments moments before she won? That kind of made the story even more hilarious. lol They gave her a certificate. It was for a 7 night caribbean cruise, we could not redeem it for even a 5 nighter. The ports that were included were Galveston, Tampa, Miami. Fort Lauderdale and Port Canveral. There were some black out dates and it said best inside or outside cabin available. We will be upgrading for sure!

meansun Posted February 14, 2009 Author #25 Share Posted February 14, 2009 We heard you say it was BORING!! Bingo won't be so boring in the future, I'm guessing?!! We were the ones on the back row with you three. Once again, have a fantastic cruise! We are jealous! lol Well you have to understand that I just came from playing cards in the casino so it was kinda like slamming on the brakes. lol My opinion of bingo is now very different and I played the next day. I definitely remember you. That is so wonderful that you won! I keep playing but always a couple numbers short when someone yells bingo. Laura The next day I played bingo and it was up to $6880. The first game she called 4 numbers and some girl won. The the next game she called only a few numbers it seemed and the same girl won. Good for her. Then some guy behind me won the $6800. I only saw one person win from the cards. It seemed all the winners were using the machines, my wife incuded.
