freedom of the Seas arrival is delayed

A heads up. The captain has announced a delayed arrival of 2hours in to Port Caneveral tommorow due to strong currents. The ship will be docked by 8:15 with disembarkation to start right away. May be a bit delayed in boarding. CBP could easily delay disembarkation. Phones are being made availble to allow people to change flights.. We missed Caymen and were delayed arriving in Labadee. In the eastern leg that left on he 16. There was a delay arriving in to st Thomas. They left Cozumel 2 hours early to avoid delays. But the currents were too strong

Yep she's delayed - they are asking people boarding tomorrow not to arrival at the port until 1p

And they changed the itinerary. Just got a call from RC. Going to Nassau, Cococay and Cozumel. Bummer but it is what it is.

The email from Royal says "due to a technical issue, it will be necessary to modify your sailing's itinerary". My DH is not happy.

Reading on the forum that must remain nameless that passengers for tomorrow's Freedom of the Seas cruise are being contacted by RCI with an itinerary change due to technical difficulties. Now instead of Eastern Caribbean, they will sail to Nassau, Coco Cay and Cozumel. RCI may have offered compensation.

FOS has been limping for almost two years now. There's apparently a combination of pod problems, thruster problems, and some other mysterious stuff going on under the waterline (have no clue what, but the last time we were on her there were divers sent down every time we were in a port). Her off-schedule dry dock in January was supposedly necessitated by all that.

The e-mail says we will getting a letter tomorrow re new itinerary and compensation. On hold now, trying to get dates to go with the ports. We live in Tampa and have been to Cozumel more times than I can count. Not happy, but we will make the best of it.

Where did you see this, have friends sailing tomorrow and would like to send them the info. I don't speak CC Spy lingo:o

They sent texts, emails and phone calls to all passengers.

Royal has started using them for emails that require a response.

Sailing next week. If RCI chooses to modify, I damn well expect something for the inconvenience.

RCL said the new itinerary for the 11/30 cruise is 2 1/2 days in Nassau (Mon-Wed), Cozumel on Thursday, and CoCoCay on Saturday. Very, very disappointed. They didn't know what compensation was going to be given. :mad:

Ouch! I'm not too fond of Nassau for part of the day. Now, we're gonna be stuck there 2 1/2 days? Great...

I would not be happy, but would make the best of it. Coco Cay is so iffy and the Bahamas are not my cup of tea.
