Well, I have been on many a whale watch in my day, but this one took the prize. I think the difference is that Mexico appears not to have all the pesky regulations that exist in United States waters about not approaching too close to the whales, turning off engines when there are whales, and not chasing them. These guys were chasing the whales, herding them almost. That extreme tail slapping behavior I understand to be a message equivalent to "Back off, dude!"

 

That being said, I think I'm in favor of the pesky regulations that keep life more peaceful for the whales.

The first pic is of a moth with a 10" wingspan at the butterfly farm on Aruba. The second pic is of a butterfly on a flower at the butterfly farm on St. Maarten.

It's been a while since anyone posted pictures so thought since we just got back from a fabulous cruise, I'd post a couple.

 

The first one was taken in Brugge, Belguim and the second one was taken from our balcony as we were getting ready to disembark in Harwich, England. The Rape was blooming and the yellow fields were beautiful.
