Need opinions/ deck 9 inside or deck 3 outside

Hello

I am booked on the Liberty of the Seas in a triple inside on deck 9

I just noticed that I could book an outside on deck 3 for the same money.

I like the idea of being on deck 9,. close to the pool but wouldn't mind a larger cabin.

Can i get some opinions on what you would do...

Thank You

And I'd rather be inside but way higher up. When I was on the Liberty, (on deck 8) it only felt like the ship was even moving on the last couple of days because of tropical storm Ida. And even then it wasn't bad, and we were in the back.

Deck 2 is okay because you're near the MDR, the theater, the casino and the Promenade. Personally I spend most days by the pool and Windjammer so I liked being on 8. I'd never sit on my bed and look out the window anyway! :)

All depends If you are looking for convenience I guess that the deck 9 will be better because is going to be close the pool and windjammer also inside cabins gets very dark so for sleep are grate. If you are looking for a view then the deck 2 will be better because you are going to be close to the water level and the window.

Larger cabin & natural light would do it for me.

Being close to the pool is fine but there are a lot of other places that are more convenient to reach from deck 2 than deck 9............... And don't forget the ease of returning to your cabin at the end of a port day. The elevators get crazy!

I far prefer an outside to an inside. We have sailed in both. Deck 3 is a great place to be. It is quiet (unless you are above the bow or stern) and it is very easy to get around. Dinner is typically on the same floor if you book on deck 3. You are close to the wave action if you find that interesting and have far less movement than any cabin highter.

Ooooohhhhh...

My answer would typically be..."I don't care, just get me on the ship"...

In my book, those two choices are a pretty close trade-off...

I don't think much of "Oceanview" cabins, for the most part...

On most ships, they are the same size as inside cabins...and most of the time you are in them, you are sleeping...the little window is black...You don't stand around in your cabin looking out the window anyway...

So, I would NEVER pay more for an "Oceanview"...If I am cruising cheap, I go for the well located inside cabin...and I use the public decks as MY balcony...There is absolutely nothing wrong with the inside cabins...You go to the same piorts, eat the same food, see the same entertainment...

Now, if the price were identical, yeah, I might take an Oceanview--but it would have to be a well-located one...

Now, Balcony cabins are a different story...I will pay a little more for a balcony--

You get extra space...

You can actually walk outside and breathe a little fresh air...

You can enjoy the scenery your ship may be passing through...

And the cabin has that floor to ceiling window which really does make it seem a lot bigger...and, of course, oftentimes, it is bigger...

And, really, I am NOT a "balcony snob"...Seems nowadays, that's how I most often cruise...my last cruise and my next four will be in balconies or suites...but my cruise before the last was in an "obstructed view oceanview" on Princess...it was not a bad obstruction--just a big pole--but, as far as I'm concerned, it might as well have been an inside...

Thanks to all who answered my question

I actually upgraded to a balcony from my inside for only 235.00 more !!!

First one in 9 cruises!

EXACTLY what I was getting at...

When the cost of the upgrade to a balcony is a reasonable amount, go for it...

When you go to the balcony, you really ARE getting something for your extra money...

At any hour, day or night, you can go out onto your balcony, sip some wine, take photos, sit in a chair and read, enjoy the ocean from your perch above it...

Your room will feel much bigger...and you will feel like you really are being treated like royalty...

ENJOY!!!

Good going on the balcony!

We just came back from our first Med cruise - and our first balcony! After a big debate, we decided to pay the $370pp upgrade to balcony ... and it was worth EVERY sweet penny!

However, on my next 2 cruises that I've booked, the balcony is more than double the inside room ... so if the price does not come down ... we'll just enjoy our walk in closet! I too am of the philosophy of "just get me on the ship" and if it means 2 cruises for the price of 1 - I'm there inside!

We realized while the balcony was worth everything in the Med - really we were not in the room hardly at all anyway. We are very, very social and had more fun going up to the decks to hang out anyway.

I have cruised eight times on two different cruise lines and have only been above deck two ONE time. The lower decks are FINE. Quiet and less movement.

In my opinion, a window is SO WORTH it. An outside cabin on deck two is worth $100/per person (IMHO) MORE than an inside cabin on deck 9 - even if the inside cabin is larger.

GO FOR THE WINDOW!!!!
