daliflor Posted June 23, 2010 #334 Share Posted June 23, 2010 Oooh, I'd pay good money for a picture of my husband with the Village People!!! Thanks for the laugh Daliflor! You're very welcome. Incidentally, I received a brochure today from a UK cruise agency and it contained a review of the 4 nighter from Barcelona on AOS. I was surprised to note the comment "the theatre shows were poor by all standards"!! I do hope the shows are up to scratch - with two dancers for daughters we love the shows! Personally, I've seen better... but in all fairness, can't call them really bad... Most of them were ok and some individual moments pretty good! To conclude Day 2 aboard AOS, Friday there was a pre-dinner show in the Lyric Theatre presented by the CD Mercedes Lafuente and called "Invitation to Dance." On the Cruise Compass, the show was described as "a Ballroom dance spectacular with a Latin flair and original coreography by Louis Van Amstel of ABC's Dacing with the Stars." The Ukrainian dancer (a little ballerina) was spectacular and the show seemed as eclectic as the ship's decorations (in colors and style). Too bad the images can't turn the sound on, but you get a good idea from the photos below (not of good quality as we were specifically asked by the RCI Staff to "kill the flash;" in the low light and large space, the AF lamp did as much as possible under the circumstances): "Invitation to Dance" (Adventure of the Seas, June 4th 2010) "Invitation to Dance" (Adventure of the Seas, June 4th 2010) "Invitation to Dance" (Adventure of the Seas, June 4th 2010)

GLYNAGP Posted June 23, 2010 #343 Share Posted June 23, 2010 Same here in the UK you can get a decnt bottle of wine in the supermarket for the equivalent of €5 (especially with the poor exchange rate for GBP to Euro at the moment!). Unfortunately, I doubt RCI are going to give $10 pitchers of house wine when the cheapest glass is $7 plus VAT plus gratuity = $8.54 which is nearly €7. They have had ships in the Med for years with Spanish, English and Italian clientele onboard and they are moving more ships up there so somebody must be spending at the bars. BTW when you refer to an apéritif, what type of drink is that normally? I will also add my 2 euros worth as a UK expat living on the Costa del Sol we are sailing on AOS ex Malaga on 26th Jun and will not be paying 30US$ for a bottle of wine, we too can purchase a very reasonable bottle for aorund 5 euros
daliflor Posted June 23, 2010 #344 Share Posted June 23, 2010 Day 3 - Saturday we had most of the Day at Sea (until shortly after 4:30pm when we were allowed to get off in Ibiza, our final Port of call). It was a beautiful, sunny day and LAVA FLOW was the drink of the day aboard the AOS (available in all bars at 20% off in the RCI rainbow souvenir glass): "A cool and refreshng blend of pina colada, strawberry and Mount Gay rum." It's probably time to have a look at the MDR for breakfast (the lower level on Deck 3 - "Vivaldi" - was open for either buffet or a la carte breakfast from 8am until 10am): MDR - Vivaldi (Adventure of the Seas, June 2010) MDR - Vivaldi (Adventure of the Seas, June 2010) MDR - Vivaldi (Adventure of the Seas, June 2010) MDR - Vivaldi (Adventure of the Seas, June 2010)
