Glad to hear that you have your camera back. What a nightmare that would have been knowing what pictures you had on there. Do yourself a favour and download your pics to your computer just in case you do lose it. Hopefuly not, but Murphy's Law sometimes prevails.

Hope your luck continues into the casino.

Good news. :)

I fail to understand the reasoning behind them not telling you at least some details. What is there to hide?

I have to admit that I fail to see what difference the "details" would make. Camera missing....camera back(with memory card!).....what other details would change this positive outcome? Glad you got your camera back Toto.....losing pictures of a vacation really is a bummer.:)

Toto,

That's a sad story that had a great ending. I'm glad you got your camera back. We left one in our stateroom at the end of a cruise, got off the ship, got our rental car and realized it was gone. Went back to the terminal, found an employee, described our situation, they sent someone up and came back 30 minutes later with my camera and bag. Not as dramatic as your story, but a great example to me of Princess's service.

Enjoy the rest of your cruise!

Mike

So, all is well and the pictures we took of this PH suite and all are safe and will be posted later on.
Phew! I'm so glad this worked out and you got your camera back. I'm also very glad you didn't give up and assume the camera was lost forever.

I checked where you were this morning on the cruise cam and saw that it was a gorgeous day there. :)

Toto, so happy you got the camera back!!!

I have one tiny suggestion....when I am on a cruise I compose all of my updates for CC, emails, etc, on my laptop in Works (or whatever you use), then I copy and paste to the appropriate website or my email. Even though I get free Internet (or mostly), having things go "poof" was driving me crazy! Doing it offline and having it saved on my laptop really helped. You probably know this already....

Besides natural curiosity, knowing the details could help prevent its loss in the future. It may be that it was not taken from the bag on the beach, but had been accidentally left elsewhere.

Hi Toto, I look forward to reading your posts. I haven't been on CC since Jan 08, but I still remember your kindness and helpful suggestions to me as a newbie. So glad you found your camera, regardless of the details! :)

DH and I are starting to discuss our next cruise, probably Sept or Oct 2012, for our 30th anniversary. We haven't selected a ship or destination yet, but it will definitely be Princess. Coming back to the board tonight has my mind racing....

Beautiful Day here at Princess Cays, in the 90's when we finally came back to the ship. Water was super Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr and not too many in the water.

Wow, even my wife though the water was warmer than that & she hates to swim in cold water. Maybe St Martin will be more to your liking.

Great news about the camera.

One time while on vacation we had walked away from the chair, then I wanted my camera and sent one of my children back for it and they grabbed a camera out of someone else's bag:eek:. The chair was very close 2 away from us, they were too embarassed to take it back, so I returned it to the owner before it was missed with a big "so sorry". While the bag looked nothing like mine nor the camera, they did not really take much note it was a grab and run back to where we were.

Hopefully it was more of sometype of error that someone was too embarrassed to return directly and just turned into the desk rather than a direct theft. At least there was a happy outcome.

I am looking forward to following your travels, we will be sailing on the Emerald in January.

Have a wonderful time Toto and I am glad you got the camera back. Losing those photos would have been a total bummer. I am looking forward to your review and thanks for taking us with you.

Toto, so glad you got your camera back. It was just fate that you were supposed to have it. It doesn't matter how it went missing, just that you got it back. I am so looking forward to your "live" reports. Keep 'em coming.

We slept in a bit this AM and then to Sabatinis for breakfast (one of only two tables occupied when we first arrived), I think everyone slept in this morning. With our memory foam mattress pad in place, we have been sleeping like newborn babies since we arrived.

Funny about the noise above our suite. Last night after dinner, we decided to come back before DH went to the show, and enjoy our balcony for a bit. It honestly sounded like a track team was training upstairs, so we decided it was time to go have a look. We walked up one flight of stairs and rounded the corner and both started laughing hysterically at what we saw. It seems the area where Princess placed the ping pong tables was in an area too dark after sunset (above the hallway on our deck), so four good sized college boys decided to pick it up and put the ping pong table right over our balcony and bedroom area where the light was better. With four of them playing and jumping around, it sounded like our roof was about to cave in. At least we found why it was so noisy in our stateroom. We got to chatting with them and we asked them if they could please put it back where it belonged when they were finished. Nice kids, they agreed and after their ping pong challenge, we had a quiet cabin until about 6:30 this morning, when the parade of passengers began claiming their pool chairs again. Again, I must stress, these PH suites are great if you were upgraded, but unless you are deaf, I would never consider actually booking one of these on this class of ship. The regular Grand Class they are GREAT, and very quiet, but not on the larger ships.

Today is our first sea day of the week, and we just returned from the Pub lunch (very very good I might add). We both had fish and chips and it was perfect for lunch.

Before lunch, I decided to visit the casino while it wasn’t busy, so I wandered down by myself. Played a little bit, then moved to a progressive machine and within 5 minutes, hit the JACKPOT. It was only up to $1400, but I will take it with a smile. I didn’t have my picture ID with me, so had to return to the cabin to retrieve it before I could be paid. Darned IRS needs to send out their little 1099’s and they need to make sure you are you I guess. Now I am after that progressive that is up to over $5000 the last time I checked. I figure if your camera can disappear on vacation, and show up again, anything is possible. Lol

Tonight is the first formal night, and we are going to be dining at the buffet this evening. We have made reservations at the Crown Grill for the evening we are in Grand Turk and am looking forward to our dining experience that evening. But formal nights for us are very rare these last few years, and we would hate to break our record.

Tomorrow is St. Maartin and we are sailing on the Golden Eagle Catamaran for the 11th or 12th time. We had thought about just spending the day in St. Martin, but it was a bit too late to cancel the excursion, so we will join the Golden Eagle after a quick water taxi ride after we dock to stock up on the goodies St. Martin has to offer (at deeply discounted prices).

The weather is wonderful, a bit on the cloudy side, but very warm and humid. The pools (all of them) are bumper to bumper today, and finding a lounge chair is nearly impossible. Seas are calm with just a hint of a few tiny white caps out there. You can barely tell the ship is even moving, but we have still overheard conversations in the elevator about how some are feeling queasy. Sailing with new cruisers always puts a smile on my face when it comes to motion onboard the ship.

Lots of great crew onboard, very happy and they seem quite content to be here, which is always a plus. Just ran into Tom Donovan (the CD) as I left the casino. We have had Tom as a CD several times before, but just can’t remember on which ships.

We hope this beautiful weather holds out for our excursions the next few days. The ship itself it quite cold inside, so it’s nice to go out and warm up.

Will check back in when time allows or if something crazy happens (which I am hoping there will be no more of that on this voyage).

Only problem. I returned from Princess Cays without my digital camera. n. ;)

Having a wonderful time, wish you all were here.

Oh My, Toto I am so sorry about your camera. I am never quite sure what to leave when we go in the water. Now Im afraid I will have to be extra careful. How mean some people can be. I left a camera on a bench once, but when I went back, it was still there. What a relief.

We are booked on the Emerald in December. Im surprised to hear about the noise in your suite. I never had a suite before; you would think the better cabins would be laid out perfectly. I do always check the decks to see whats above and below.

Thanks for the posts. Have lots of fun the rest of your cruise.
