kc320 Posted June 1, 2010 #152 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Free laundry is for D+ Ultimate Value Booklet Diamond Plus In addition to offers on spa, casino and shopping, we've added some new one's like 45 minutes of free Internet plus 20% off online packages, a free bag of laundry and a free photo. Thanks...I keep forgetting I'm D+ now...not D...:D
RevSmith Posted June 1, 2010 #153 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Just read all my benefits and I am thrilled... I'm hoping there is a discount on Johnny Rockets, but it doesn't look good. Guess I'll know on the 13th when I'm on the Freedom.

pcur Posted June 1, 2010 #155 Share Posted June 1, 2010 What about the June 1st restriction? I know with the wow sale, you could not cancel and rebook to get in on the obc. But what about with this? For a cruise over a year away getting the 200 diamond balcony, I'd rather cancel and rebook to get 350 by booking same on next cruise. I'm guessing they won't want this but it doesn't seem fair not to be able to get in on the new promotion in this case (where I didn't have a problem with the wow exclusion). When you book on board you can cancel and transfer the booking, with the obc, to another cruise.
Host Kewlguy Posted June 1, 2010 #156 Share Posted June 1, 2010 I'm surprised there are still a few people complaining about these enhancements. It all sounds good to me. I guess certain people are just never satisfied and must go through everyday life as very unhappy people. I do wish they reinstated the combinability of the stockholder credit. People should be rewarded for owning the stock, not penalized for it. That was the main reason we dumped ours.
gadaboutgal Posted June 1, 2010 #157 Share Posted June 1, 2010 So what I see is that RCl could not care less about their stockholders--no increased benefits if using the shareholder benefit. Way to go RCL!!
mpbmark Posted June 1, 2010 #158 Share Posted June 1, 2010 So, which is it???????? "Exclusive Nightly Diamond VIP Event. . . . We will offer complimentary wine and champagne and a 'happy hour' discount of 25 percent off beer, liquor and fountain soda drinks . . . ." or, "4 The Exclusive Nightly Diamond Event will take place approximately 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm in a dedicated lounge and will feature complimentary wine, champagne and fountain drinks, and a 'happy hour' discount of 25% off beer and liquor." Well I'm very happy with all the changes but especially with the 20% off internet packages, the 45 minutes free internet and the free bag of laundry......especially since all of our upcoming cruises are 14+ days or longer. I'm disappointed also that they did not factor in an OBC from being a Shareholder but maybe that is yet to be addressed. If not, well that's the way the cookie crumbles.:D It's unfortunate that we will not be able to benefit from the balcony discount in regards to our three rather long cruises that we have booked for September 2011. But hey, that's the way it goes. We did get the reduced deposit when we booked on board plus a $300 OBC for each cruise..........so that's something. MMitchell29 Posted June 1, 2010 #161 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Just curious but are the discount esp balcony discount are per person or per cabin? I am looking to take my first RCI cruise next March so i'm trying to learn all I can.
cruisenfever Posted June 1, 2010 #162 Share Posted June 1, 2010 3. Biggie for me - will be able to combine certain benefits again. Balcony discounts will be combinable with the savings certs (if avail). In addition, you will be able to combine EITHER the OBC for booking onboard OR the shareholder OBC. So now at least we will be able to combine up to 3 benefits again. I thought that was totally a move in the right direction. That is what I found out this morning while waiting to depart and talking to Rene the LA. That's why never believe what you hear on a ship. stretch44 Posted June 1, 2010 #165 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Their most profitable customers are the ones in suites regardless of how often they've sailed, their least profitable customer is probably the D+ in an inside cabin. Right you are and RCI needs to concentrate on those customers now that they seem to have the D+ happy. I know this won't be popular here with all the D+'s but they really need to do more about the overcrowding in the CL. Not just at Happy Hour but also access to the concierge. On my last cruise the concierge actually came up to us at the end and apologized that he wasn't able to provide the service he would have liked to. I think he had quite a few angry suite guests on this cruise! He told me twice the people in the Royal Suite came in during Happy Hour and there were no seats. He told us that in addition to suite guests, he had a very large number of D+ that occupied much of his time. Glad to see D's and D+'s get some added benefits but if RCI wants to keep their most profitible guests, suite guests, they need to look at some other mainstream lines such as NCL and see how badly they compare. beachlovergirl Posted June 1, 2010 #170 Share Posted June 1, 2010 While I was reading my e-mail from RCI this morning the phone rang and it was a recorded message from Adam Goldstein announcing the changes so RCI's PR dept. is hard at work! I'm really happy with the new benefits! :D:D Dee

IMHO, D+ should have access to the CL during the day. However, when there is an over abundance of members on any cruise........then an alternate venue should be set up on ships that do not have a Diamond Lounge in the evenings from 5-8:30. They used to do this before when Diamond Members were included and everybody was happy. The Concierge Lounge is for suite guests. Diamond Plus Members have had the invitation extended to them. Unfortunately I have seen on many cruises that attitude of "entitlement" from D+ Members and this will eventually ruin it for all D+ members. suzyluvs2cruise Posted June 1, 2010 #172 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Free laundry is for D+ Ultimate Value Booklet Diamond Plus In addition to offers on spa, casino and shopping, we've added some new one's like 45 minutes of free Internet plus 20% off online packages, a free bag of laundry and a free photo. I can see why there was confusion as this is what it said in my email outlining new benefits for D+ this a.m. from Adam Goldstein. This is a great benefit....especially when going on longer cruises. :) In addition to many of your favorite offers, we've added new savings, including: 45 minutes free internet plus 20% off internet packages, savings for laundry, dry cleaning, pressing, a free photo and more while onboard. So, which is it???????? "Exclusive Nightly Diamond VIP Event. . . . We will offer complimentary wine and champagne and a 'happy hour' discount of 25 percent off beer, liquor and fountain soda drinks . . . ." or, "4 The Exclusive Nightly Diamond Event will take place approximately 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm in a dedicated lounge and will feature complimentary wine, champagne and fountain drinks, and a 'happy hour' discount of 25% off beer and liquor." I noticed that one too! How about this.......in the fine print for Commemorative Gift. I know some have said they got a crystal block at 20 cruise credits and others (including us) didn't. Looks like it's now official for 20 cruise credits. 6A commemorative gift will be delivered to you during the sailing on which you attain your 20th, 30th, 40th and 50th cruise credits and on every 10th cruise credit thereafter. I'm pleased with the changes......especially the "free bag of laundry", additional internet minutes and discount on internet packages but would like to see some recognition for Shareholders. dramaqueen4lyfe Posted June 1, 2010 #173 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Received my email and phone call this morning. I am quite pleased with the enhancements. The extra internet minutes will be very useful. I did not see the free laundry on the list I was looking at so thanks to those who saw it elsewhere. That will be of great use to us on our 4 long cruises in the future. We had already booked all the way out to Oct of 2011 so we'll miss some of the combinable discounts but we did get some very nice OBC for booking onboard plus a 2 category upgrade so it's all good. My only negative comment is the same as many of you.......Why don't they recognize their stockholders?????

Yes, that's exacly what I told my ta to do if necessary. We are booked so far in advance there should still be a good selection of cabins. I'm happy about the changes, and especially being able to combine discounts again. I hope for you stockholders they reinstate that as combinable again, too.
