Ok, I *think* I'm just about to book the Emerald for 4/17/11 for the Southern Caribbean. I'm sure lots of you have been on the Emerald before, so can you give me a vote of confidence that I'm doing the right thing?? Only because I've been an RC girl for years and years, and this is the first time we're trying Princess.....should I do it??? Will I love it or be disappointed??

You will love the beautiful Emerald Princess. Make sure you visit the International Cafe and Vines the wine and sushi bar! Four beautiful fresh water pools, buffet open 24/7 and the best pizza at sea.....enjoy:)

If you walk through on Promanade Deck, you can take the stairs down one flight and not have to depend on the elevator. After dinner, reverse the process and walk up one flight of stairs.

Sailed Easter week this year, no problems with a lot of kids. If your sailing is more than 7 days, you shouldn't experience a problem:)

That's because you elected traditional dining in Botticelli. When you choose anytime, you have DaVinci and Michelangelo to choose from and there are never any crowds outside of either one.

 

Walking down the stair wouldn't have helped much because when there's nowhere to go, the stairways get crowded too. Just don't get there early is another option.

I've been on many ships where the area outside the dining room

is crowded just before the chow-bell. Seems about par for

the course.

 

On Emerald, all four elevators to to deck six, outside the bot.

Originally on Grand, only two did.

We LOVE the Emerald Princess. We did the Baltic last year on the Emerald and it was beautiful, the crew were kind and gracious, the food was very good and the atrium is gorgeous.

The spa is also really nice and I had one of the best massages I have ever had. After walking on the cobblestone streets in Tallinn, a foot massage was perfect.;)

You won't regret booking a cruise on the Emerald!

Hello, we are on the same cruise as you, out of FLL 4/17/11, welcome. This is our second time on the Emerald, last was it's maiden voyage 10/07, what a wonderful time we had, love this boat. Lots to do, great food, great staff, dancing, MUTS (movies under the stars), very clean. We are getting another mini suite on aft Emerald Deck, very nice and covered, good privacy. We even hit the middle of a class 1 hurricain, Noel, no issues, very smooth, even through that monster. You will enjoy.

Go 5 minutes after the doors open and you won't have that problem.

First evening, go 10-15 minutes after the scheduled opening. As every passenger needs to be escorted to their assigned table, it takes a while that evening.

Yes, completely agreed. We sailed her over Easter last year and we saw, maybe, 10 kids the whole time. The longer cruises tend not to be overrun with kids (perhaps it's just a long time to pull them out of school for some people).

 

We were loyal to Royal and tried Emerald Princess last year. It was a very relaxing vacation and we LOVED the Movies Under the Stars at night. The ship didn't have the same "Wow!" factor for us that RCI Voyager-class and larger ships do, but it was lovely and spacious. The food was delicious and attractively presented. We would cruise Princess again.
