D+ "free" laundry since June 1?

I could swear that when the new benefits were announced, there was a "free" bag of laundry. Now the web site just reads "dscounts" for pressing, dry cleaning and laundry. Can any recent D+ cruisers enlighten me, please?

We did get a coupon for a free bag of laundry (the $25 bag) on our recent Enchantment cruise.

On our Monarch cruise 3 weeks ago we got a free bag of laundry. Used the coupon that was on the sheet inserted into our D+ book.

We got the free laundry coupon and used it on our recent Radiance cruise. Only problem was that when we got our final bill, it showed a $15. charge for the laundry. Had to go to Guest Relations to have the charge removed before getting off the ship. A little inconvenient, but charge was removed immediately.

BB, is it true that the free laundry is only for shorts, socks, t-shirts etc? I've read here they will charge you if you have a blouse or slacks..

that's what it says. pjs & underwear also. I meant to ask if shorts--was men's underwear OR like workout shorts, but didn't. We did send t-shirts and socks--it did take a while to get it back. sentit out early 1 day and got it back at nightly turn down the next day. we have never used the srvice before, so don't know if this isa the norm. There were not alot of P?D or D+ on the ship either.

It is odd that the laundry list allowed is the same items on the $25 bag - which in my opinion is somewhat sexist. It is geared to men's wear. Yes, some women wear shorts and t-shirts but sometimes it's a lot easier to throw on a lightweight sundress. This should also be listed.

 

I have put in crop pants (they are shorter than pants) or sweaters (they are shaped like a T) in the past and called them shorts and t-shirts and gotten them back with no charge. I don't know if it will be pushing my luck to call a sundress and t-shirt. That IS what I will be doing though.

Just checked the Benefits section under Crown & Anchor Society. Here is a direct quote as I did a copy and paste. Some times you have to log-in to see all of the info re the new June 1st benefits for any level.

In addition to offers on spa, casino and shopping, we've added some new one's like 45 minutes of free Internet plus 20% off online packages, a free bag of laundry and a free photo."

We sent shorts, t-shirts, sock underwear,even jeans and collared knit tops. They all came back folded, not pressed. i think if it needs pressing, like a blouse, they will charge you, but they didn't charge for the jeans and the collared knit tops, but they didn't need pressing. We each got a coupon,so we sent out two bags.....great for those long cruises and cruisetours, but we didn't get it back until the second last night of the cruise, so we could take home clean stuff!

And no where on the sheet does it mention the word Ladies or Mens......so when we used it we included some of my t-shirts and some of Jim's. No problem.

Great news!! We just came back from our first Celebrity cruise and really liked having the free Internet and the bag of laundry. It is good to know that RCCL is offering the same now.

The nice thing about celebrity laundry is that it is 30 items...any item. And you use the normal laundry list with almost any item imaginable listed. Fill it out and then write on it that you are using the captain's club offer and then enclose the coupon in the bad.

 

My laundry on Celebrity came back folded so neatly that it seemed pressed and some items seemed newer than the day I got them. I was impressed. The hotel directer said they have a real "chinese laundry" down there. I guessed that meant they know what they are doing.

my understanding is it the day of the BAG of laundry only, but I could be wrong.

 

LOVED seeing the actual coupon, we just had the xerox sheet!!!

 

It was nice to bring back clean clothes. STUPID us, my sister & I both had coupons, but we only used 1 bag!! course with the confusion of what exactly they meant by shorts, we didn't want to pay!!! NEXT time workout shorts are going!!!!
