The Elder God notes that they ask for your home address and part of your social security number to distinguish between people with the same name.

I have never been asked for my social security number for booking a cruise. and when aasked for the SS # on my funpass I add all zeros

They can match by your legal name and DOB... both of which you must provide and do verify before boarding with your ID.

Wonder if the guy sitting next to our table was ever "talked to" Every single night he would come to dinner and just be rowdy and obnoxious. When the wait staff would start dancing he would start yelling at them and one night I felt so bad for this waitress. They were doing a dance to Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire and he stood up on his chair started whistling at her while waving his napkin. When he got down he starting taking out dollar bills and throwing them at her.

Don't know if the MD ever said anything to him about his bahavior but the MD sure was glaring at him and then looking at the screen they have...

I am all up for having fun but that was way over board.

I'll bet that, if one is banned on any Carnival-owned line, that information would be shared with all the other CCL lines.

Paul

Not necessarily.

A few years ago we sailed on Princess, 3 day out of LA. There was a very large rambunctious group onboard. A few of them (quite proudly) said the group was not allowed to book Carnival.

While this can be everywhere, I always wonder about sex offenders on the ship.

As with anything, common sense is usually your best defense.

Don't let your drink out of your sight or even turn your back from it.

If you have, don't drink it. Order a fresh one.

Don't go to strangers rooms, don't bring them to yours.

Don't go to deserted crew areas.

Stay on the buddy system. Stick with your friends/group.

If something feels off, it probably is.

Teach your children these things as well. Don't give them free run of the ship 24/7.

I don't believe there's any restriction on most itineraries for those with convictions including sexual offenders. People on the sexual registration lists can travel.

I have been on two cruises that have had people banned for life during that cruise. They got into a fight (different ships same results) sent to their rooms to pack and stay there until first port then escorted off. They ( from what I heard last time) had to sign a letter from the president of carnival. It informed them they are banned for life on carnival. They had to find their own way home.

I'm guessing they just don't let them book in the first place.

Exactly.

Then whatever nation they're sailing from will also have lists, and they are "Do not board lists".

This thread is almost 6 years old....I'm wondering exactly what you were searching for? Guilty of something? LOL

I notice on page one there's a post by Cthulu. I think it explains why the "dead" thread rose.

(Hopefully at least one person gets my little joke, but it's late. Cthulu really did post on page one though.)

If they'd started a new thread someone would have been sure to tell them to do a search.

Hard to please everyone around here.

Your source?

A few months ago there was also a brief trend of several posters claiming they had been denied boarding for sex offender status. (One guy was quite forthcoming--it was one of those things where he was 22 and dating a 17yo or something, now is a RSO. I THINK Aquahound chimed in at the time that it seems like they are doing some background checks now. I might have imagined that last part though.)
