Classic Non-Alcoholic Package

In addition to enjoying your favorite Coca Cola can and fountain sodas selections such as Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Fanta Orange and Coke Zero, you may also enjoy fresh squeezed and bottled juices, Premium Coffees and Teas and Non-Premium Bottled Water.

Premium Non-Alcoholic Package

Enjoy nearly our entire selection of Non-Alcoholic beverages on board including all canned and fountain soft drinks from Coca Cola, Premium Bottled Water from Evian, Perrier and San Pellegrino, Specialty Coffees and Teas, Non-Alcoholic Frozen Drinks and Smoothies, Red Bull Energy Drink and Specialty Waters from Vitamin Water.

I took this from the Celebrity Web Page, then I called Celebrity to have them clarify this. Neither one comes with Alcohol. The difference is one is like Colombian coffee is a premium as opposed to every day black coffee. The Specialty coffees are like coffees made at Star Bucks. Like Swiss Mocha Latte. I love my coffee so I wanted to make sure I was gonna get my Specialty coffees. So I have to order the non-alcohol Premium to get these.

It's very interesting (and possibly unfortunate) that you received that answer when you called Celebrity -- because it disagrees with something that they state on another page of their Internet site. Here is what I copied from there on July 28 (with my clarifications in brackets):

"[FAQ:] What is the difference between the 'Premium Coffees' ([available in the] Classic and Premium Nonalcoholic Packages) and the 'Specialty Coffees' ([available in the] Classic and Premium [Alcoholic] Packages?"

"[A:] Premium coffees (e.g. espressos, lattes and capuccinos) are served in our coffee lounges, such as the Cova Bar and Café al Bacio. Specialty coffees include coffee with alcohol and are served in any bar or lounge."

Either the above FAQ & A at the "X" site is wrong ... or what you were told over the phone is wrong. Here is the URL of the above FAQ & A:

PS to "CLEMM," "kitty9," and "gillianrose": Thank you SO very much for standing up for honesty. You made my day. It was refreshing to read your comments.

Once again, the Celebrity website is a mess. The alcohol/coffee drinks were taken out of the non-alcoholic package a while ago. When the website will catch up with this will probably be about the same time that someone at X notices that with their tie-in with Apple/Mac products, their guidelines for what operating systems will work on board are completely out-of-date.

No, it is not within reason. It is stealing. Where would you say it starts to become wrong? 3? 4? 11? Wrong is wrong. If you can't afford to pay for your wife's 1 or 2 drinks then she should not be drinking.

Whatever, Clemm!! This horse has been dead for a while now. Quit beating it!

I contacted Celeb via phone and was told premium coffee included coffee drinks/latte/espresso/mocha latte etc ... specialty coffee included coffee with liquor

I am hoping this is correct and it would be nice if someone who has used the classic package would post here ... this is a deciding factor for me for the package ... if the classic pkg does not allow coffee drinks such has mocha's and latte's then I would consider the premium ... I dont want liquor in my coffee drink but I do enjoy a latte in the morning over a regular coffee

Hi,

We're going on our first Celebrity Cruise on 2nd October and have been struggling to decide whether to get a Premium Alcoholic package or not, so this thread has been extremely helpful!

One question though:

If both my husband and I buy a package, can I send him to the bar with both our sea passes for a couple of glasses of wine to bring back to our room, to have with our canapes whilst we're getting ready for dinner? I know you can't use your package for room service, but can you bring a drink to your room yourself?

Many thanks

Heather

Yes - as long as he has both of your card he can get two drinks at the same time. We did this often with bottled water, soft drinks, coffees, etc. My husband would go grab drinks while I was getting ready in the evening. My brother even took all 4 of our cards to the bar one afternoon to pick up drinks as the pool butler/waiter was nowhere to be seen. As long as you have a card, you can get (one) drink.

Have fun!

Hello, everyone.

I just discovered (on other threads) three new pieces of information that I thought I should add here -- to help this thread continue to act as a "clearinghouse" for the topic of beverage packages and their use.

I.

We really liked Cellarmasters and spent quite a bit if time there. ... [besides the Enomatic wine-dispending machine, for which a beverage package cannot be used, t]here is also a "normal" wine menu from which you can choose glasses or bottles. They had cheese and crackers at no cost (sometimes we had to ask). ... Sara

The Cellar Masters wine list can be viewed here:

http://www.spittoon.biz/images/pdf_uploads/Cellarmasters%20Wine%20Menu%204.7.10.pdf

II. Here, from CrCr member, "Albert Ross," are links to recent wine lists used (a) in Celebrity's specialty restaurants and (b) the main dining room. [in each menu, one can find a list of wines available by the glass.] ...

--- (b): http://boards.cruisecritic.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=160677&d=1277749749

Many thanks to "scf1270" and "Albert Ross" for these invaluable contributions!

I don't see where this has been mentioned yet - Does anyone have a price list for bar shots and scotches, so we can figure out whether to purchase a classic or premium liquor package? I like gin and tonics and my hubby likes scotches like Glenlivet or Glenfiddich. Anyone know how much these drinks cost?

Thanks!

Hello, "sp2."

I can get you to a list of some of that kind of thing. It's the menu of drinks available at "Michael's Club" on "X" ships. I'll get you started on the Scotch page (#36), and you can use the little arrow, at the top, to scroll back through to page #32. There will be various kinds of shots along the way. Here's the link:

Hi jg51

Thanks for posting that link, it's really good & has helped me decide what Beverage package to buy for my comming cruise!

I assume the bar list & prices will be similar, if not the exact same on the Constellation:o

You're welcome, "Jeaneee."

That link was provided by a CrCr member, early in 2010, so I am counting on its being pretty accurate.

Ditto!

My wife and I sat down last night and made a list of all the drinks we had on our last couple of cruises and found a package that suited our drinking habits. It's easy to think about how much drink at meals, but it's the drinks during Bingo, Shows, the casino that you forget about.

Here, from CrCr member, "Albert Ross," ... [is a link to a recent wine list used] ... in Celebrity's specialty restaurants ... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=164403&d=1280936001

Folks,

I went through the above-linked specialty restaurants' wine list and extracted the following ten wines (available by the glass) that would be covered by the Premium [alcoholic] Package. The price in dollars is shown:

WHITE WINES:

* Frog’s Leap, Chardonnay 12.0

* Muller Catoir, Riesling 8.0

Michel Redde, Pouilly-Fumé 8.5

Cakebread, Sauvignon Blanc 10.0

RED WINES:

Rutherford, Merlot 8.0

Nickel & Nickel, Pinot Noir 11.5

Antinori, Chianti Classico 9.5

* Chiarello, Zinfandel 11.0

PORT & DESSERT WINES:

Fonseca, Port 7.0

* Château Coutet, Sauternes 11.0

NOTE: The wines flagged with an asterisk, above, did not appear in the overall beverage list, in the opening post, of this thread -- so they are a "supplementary bonus" to the main list (just like the 23 extras discovered in Cellar Masters and listed in post #76, above).

Hi, "F.N.".

Names ARE on cards, but stateroom numbers are NOT.

Reason: Security.

If you drop your card and someone finds it, he/she will not be able to get into your stateroom because the number is not printed on it.
