Summit, food on 1st afternoon

When boarding the Summit on the 1st day at 12pm, when the rooms aren't ready....I know the buffet is open but it's kind of a zoo.

 

 

Is there another more peaceful venue open, and if so what deck and what is it called? Thanks

Aqua spa cafe- limited choices but quieter--hopefully!

An option is to eat a late breakfast before boarding the ship, and you won't need to go in search of lunch! You can do a late afternoon snack, if you need it, after the feeding frenzy is over!

Go to the Aqua Spa Cafe and sit on the Port side. Great view of the Status of Liberty and Downtown Manhattan.

When we embarked on Summit on Aug 8, the view was on the port side. When we disembarked on Aug 15, the Manhattan/Statue view was on the starboard side.

I just assumed she normally docked starboard side to -- I guess if she would dock port side to, the better view would be back aft on the "no smoking" side. :)

Is that open upon boarding? If the weather's great, it's a wonderful alternative.
