izzypooch Posted November 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2010 Just happened to be surfing the Royal website....and just happened to notice that a JS on a 3-day Monarch sailing on 11-19 was only $329.00 per person....(senior rate) so I asked the hubby if he wanted to do something last minute...and next thing I know, we're booked! Our main incentive was double credits towards Diamond status and, of course, casino fun and Cocoa Cay are always nice. We're retired and Florida residents -- just an hour and a half away from the port -- so Monarch here we come!

We're retired and Florida residents -- just an hour and a half away from the port -- so Monarch here we come! Sounds great!! We did an impulse booking too a couple of weeks ago. Airfare from Detroit to Orlando (Spirit) was $29 so we jumped on it, then I said "hey, do you wanna find a cheap cruise too?" so we did! We'll be on the Monarch too, in January!! :) Oh to be retired and living near a port in Florida. ENJOY!!!! Kathy Oh, yes!! I agree!! DH and I will be semi-retired in a couple of years and plan to start spending a month or two in Florida during the winters so I'm sure we'll start taking more cruises then. That's one good thing about getting older, more cruises!!

TahoeBob Posted November 4, 2010 #18 Share Posted November 4, 2010 May 2009 I was at work and I got a email from another cruise line(Carnival) on a Thursday about some super low priced cruises that sailed the next monday. (During the swine flu time) about one hour later I was booked on the Paradise. At $99.00 PP it was a deal I just had to book.
