Slot Pull: Questions on how to organize

EXACTLY I think you should pick the machine you want, when we did it someone coordinated with the casino mgr and we didn't get free drinks or anything, just a losing machine!:)

Totally agree Gretchen. No advance warning to the Casino at all. Walk in with your group and collectively decide on a machine. Do not involve the Casino Manager until it is time to pay off and you are all done playing.

Glad you received the email. Here is another hint for everyone.

Slot Pull Hint:

As organizer, take a small calculator with you also. then take the total money won and divide by the # of particpates. Remember, you are not going to pay back the cents; just whole dollars. Then I went to the Casino Cashier and asked for a certain number of piles of money. If each person was to get back $23, I asked for 75 (#of people who were in the Slot Pull - include yourself too) piles of money; each with a $20 bill and 3 one dollar bills. Then you can pay off right away. The Casino should have all that money right there at the cage. This takes some time but trust me, everyone will wait for you.

Great thanks for the tips on the calculator. I am sure it will make my life easier!

ThiIf you wouldn't mind sending me a copy of the spreadsheet, I'd appreciate it. I'm organizing the Meet and Greet on my next cruise and think this would be so much fun!

I have a question to any of you who have organized a slot pull event. How many participants is too many? (if there is such a thing?)

What has been your experience?

Thanks

Karen

Karen,

The first Slot Pull event that I ran, I had about 70 people particpate. It took a while buy people loved rooting on each other to do good on their pulls. Some people did their pulls and then went and played other games in the casino or just wandered off and then came back when it was time to pay out. The whole thing maybe took 1 1/2 hours but the time went by quickly.

The first event that I participated in was run by another person and they divided the group in 2 and used 2 machines. I did not like that as much but it does go faster.

My answer would be,there is no such thing as too many unless you were talking 200+.

Yes, we did win. Do not remember the exact amount but it was about $9 over the amount that we had each put in. Then on that same cruise we did a 2nd slot pull and we broke even the 2nd time. It was sure lots of fun.

Hello Ann, From a California neighbor who lives to the north of you. Can you please e mail me the spread sheet for the Slot Pull? We will be on the Sapphire in March and a Slot Pull has been mentioned on our message board. E mail address: ag16113 at yahoo.com.

Is there a way for you to have this as a document that others can download on this thread so you do not need to be bothered by so many of us? You are a great sport to share this with all of the CC'rs

who request it. I hope when you have another Slot Pull..you win BIG!!

Again, thanks,

Anita

Thanks bunches...I have printed it will give it to our Slot Pull organizer. Good idea re: using cabin numbers rather than names as ID.

People on Cruise Critic are great..willing to share information and stuff that makes our cruises so much more enjoyable.

Regards,

Anita

Hi cruisin'low - I'd love to have a copy of your spreadsheet as well. I volunteered to coordinate the slot pull on our Panama Canal cruise but I've never participated in one before so need all the help I can get!

Only three of us on our roll call right now, but it's still early! I might consider starting one of these, if you wouldn't mind emailing me the sheet too. wagneralw at hotmail dot com

May the grand poobahs of the casino shine their luck down on you for being so generous to help us all out! :D
