Slot Pull: Questions on how to organize

Hi Ann,

May I also have a copy of the spreadsheet? Last time I did a slot pull, we just put our names down, chipped in $10 or $20 (can't remember) and we put the money in a machine. Those that were in the casino a lot took turns putting in their key card to get some extra credits. We played max and weren't doing too well, so we just took out the money and put it in another machine. We used the card to do that also. We set a time limit of one hour. If you had a win, you pulled again. Some didn't care about doing the actual pulling and others pulled for them. It was very random and we had a ball. I guess there were 25 or 30 of us. We didn't win big so I was glad it wasn't all my money I was playing with!

Thanks.

Susan

Ann same here,

I'm interested on a spread sheet but don't want to post the email

Once you have a few people who are participating in the casino and if you are all cheering and laughing, more people will come over and want to join in your Slot Pull. In the past, we have turned away people as we had too many. But I do not think that 12 people is too small a group.

Has anyone won anything worthwhile I know that it would be a lot of fun but just interested if anyone got a good return

Jax,

Not sure what you consider "worthwhile". Personally if we break even or even lose a little bit, it is just lots of fun cheering everyone on to try to win. It is a great mixer. The most we ever got back was about $8.00/person over and above what we had invested. The most I have ever lost in a Slot Pull had been about $5.00/person.

I know we did not do it for the money and the potential return, as it is gambling and "gambling" implies that you are not always going to win.

To those of you planning slot pulls, the Casino Manager does not have to choose a machine for you. In fact, on one of our pulls, we moved around from machine to machine. I did notify the casino manager aboard the Sapphire when we boarded that we were having a pull, and he provided us some nice prizes-caps and a nice tote bag. He even stopped by to greet us and see how we were doing. We have had a great time on every slot pul we have joined.

Thanks for the info... do I need to address the possibility of us hitting a very large amount, or even the Jackpot? (on $1.00 Wheel of Fortune JP is over a million dollars!)

Ann I would also like a copy of your spreadsheet.... Please send it to singoutloud62@yahoo.com. I have a question would it be okay if all the money is put on my sail card? I would love all the extra points...I am organizing a pull on the Carnival Magic..... We sail in 16 days... So excited.:D:D

Hi,

I just sent you the information to your email. I see nothing wrong with putting your sail card in the slot machine to register the play. However, some people have questioned, what happens if you happen to hit a huge jackpot and taxes have to be paid on it. I would say, take the taxes out of the winnings first and then pay off the equal amounts to the participants. If your card is in at the time, you get the tax money to pay later.

Have a wonderful cruise.

Yes we are, and we can't wait. I've been following several threads before and after ours to get ideas. I wanted to do a slot pull, and since no one offered, I decided to host it. Have a great cruise.

Will report back how our Slot Pull went on our cruise and if there are any machines to look for or look out for in the Casino.
