golfadj Posted July 28, 2011 #27 Share Posted July 28, 2011 Only have so much time to keep up with roll calls. Right now we have 2 booked and not doing justice to the Jan one and will not until after we complete 9/11 cruise. No desire to book another one until the next one is done. OnePsychLynne Posted July 28, 2011 Author #29 Share Posted July 28, 2011 Ten . . .. . How do you typically book that many cruises? One a month, a couple a month, back to back or just whenever the price is right?;)
DGP1111 Posted July 28, 2011 #30 Share Posted July 28, 2011 How do you typically book that many cruises? One a month, a couple a month, back to back or just whenever the price is right?;) All of the above. In that one particular instance, the longest on the list was booked a bit over 2 years in advance. A few were long weekend get-aways on a ship very closeby (reminding I'm in FL), and also some back-to-backs. That instance also didn't last long at all in the double digits, as that tenth one booked was a mere two days before taking the first on the list. It was a very rare situation, but fun to see the list on CCL site nonetheless. :)
shelwoj Posted July 28, 2011 #31 Share Posted July 28, 2011 We've got two booked right now but I've been researching for 3rd and 4th (late 2012 and 2013). I LOVE cruising and wish we could do it more often.
ibcnusoon Posted July 28, 2011 #32 Share Posted July 28, 2011 Two booked for now (November 2011 and November 2012), which is ALOT for us. The only other cruises I've been on where in 1980 and 2006!! I'd book a third but the November 2013 schedule isn't out yet. :p Wish I lived in Florida to take advantage of the quick little cruises for less than $200!! Since I still have school-aged children, we have to work around the school schedule, which means going on high-priced cruises, can't afford more than one a year! :(
halos Posted July 28, 2011 #33 Share Posted July 28, 2011 So why in the world am I looking for ANOTHER CRUISE?????:p This is why I have to keep working. To support my high maintenance habits:D I know EXACTLY how you feel. I'm into 2013 for goodness sake! I have to stop this. It's madness I tell you!

Carnival Liberty April 2012 Celebrity Summit October 2012 Celebrity Summit April 2013 However, we are looking a Carnival cruise for this winter! tiggerman101 Posted July 28, 2011 #38 Share Posted July 28, 2011 I have six booked at the moment. They are wildly spread out between locations (Bermuda, Alaska, East and West Caribbean, Hawaii) and cruise lines (CCL, Celebrity, HAL and Royal). I might have to mix them up soon because my parents just announced they want to take the whole family on another Christmas cruise. I have to see where that will fall and adjust accordingly. I am actively looking at our big cruise for early 2013 as well. I keep going back and forth between a South America "around the horn" cruise and a SE Asia cruise from Hong Kong to Singapore. It does get a bit nuts.
PSRCPA Posted July 28, 2011 #39 Share Posted July 28, 2011 OnePsychLynne - We did a B2B on the Sensation in April and escorted off the ship by an Officer through customs and released to an employee to do our new paper work. We sat in the terminal about 15 minutes before same Officer returned and escorted us back on the ship; he had our new Sign & Sail keys and they took our pix on ship. Easy, easy! We have 3 booked at the moment - Sensation in Aug, and B2B on the Imagination in November. That will give me 24 (all on Carnival) and I'm planning my MILESTONE cruise, looking at something big, maybe 12 days. Although we live in FL now....it's only been in the past 5 years..and I love being so close to cruise Ports!
firefly333 Posted July 28, 2011 #40 Share Posted July 28, 2011 Fire I can sure relate to this. My Dad is turning 90 in a couple weeks. He is a widower and I am an only child. I moved from S. FL to Dallas and rented a place within a mile of my parents so we could be close enough to walk if we had to. Closest place to rent I could find. My Dad still wants to drive and will sneak out sometimes if I go on a cruise. I would feel so bad if he had a accident. I already had a fight with a cousin who thinks I should just stay home and not cruise. I did one B2B 7 day and it just seemed to long. Did one B2B out of FL 3/4 day and my Dad fell and he made my mom and me feel so guilty that we were not there when he was transferred to rehab that day. I promised to never drive to FL again. I still have both parents, but my mom is the one who hates to drive. My Dad still has his driving license .. they renewed it without making him pass the eye test??!! All of my extended family is against my cruises. None have even wanted to come with me. My parents think its a waste of money.
MSRussell Posted July 28, 2011 #41 Share Posted July 28, 2011 I see where several people have taken B2B, just wondering do you pay normal fare, or do you get discounts for B2B. On my last cruise I met a teacher who does five weeks each summer, so I am wondering what kind of good deals lie out there for B2B? No, no discounts. But saving on the airfare is a biggie for me. I live in Indiana, and figured I saved at almost $600. Also, this will fulfill my Platinum requirement, and on my last leg my oldest cousin will be with me, her first cruise. So this will be a double special cruise for me. Melanie
BaseballMomof4 Posted July 28, 2011 #42 Share Posted July 28, 2011 OP, I just noticed from your profile that you live in Florida. The resident discount and no airfare must be nice!! If I lived in Florida, I'd probably be cruising just as much, haha! But airfare from Boston to FL, especially in the summer months, can cost us a fortune! :( You would think so but it just doesn't happen - life gets in the way! I have 3 sons still living at home so we only get to cruise every other year if that - it's just too expensive with all of us. Check out Allegiant Air - they fly out of Worcester really, really cheap!

Duanerice1 Posted July 28, 2011 #44 Share Posted July 28, 2011 Only 1 at a time. There are way too many other cool vacations places out there. I can maybe do 1 a year, maybe 1 every 18 months. Sometimes we'll also slip in a weekend cruise since we live here in Florida. enjoy, Duane
HisWife1908 Posted July 28, 2011 #45 Share Posted July 28, 2011 Wow...I saw one poster had 12 at one time! I wish!! I have to take one cruise at a time consdiering that I'm a contractor. If I start a new position, it would suck to say...Hey I will work for you but for only 6 months out of the next year. Why, do you ask?? Well, because I'll be CRUISIN'!! Check out Allegiant Air - they fly out of Worcester really, really cheap! Well, it's not exactly allegiant, it's 'Direct Air'.. they fly limited schedules on Thursdays, Saturday and Sunday. You can get to orlando/Sanford, Ft. Myers, or West Palm. I used them this past winter..flew on Southwest out of manchester, then caught the one way back home out of Sanford. One way car rentals to this airport is expensive, too. They actually charge the drop fee for this airport. ( I've checked..they dont' for the major airports..but this one isn't major by any stretch!) Currently, it also seems to be one of the safest ways to visit foreign ports. It occurs to me that the allure of the cruise ship is (for me) in the fact that I am completely pampered and there are no conflicts for me to deal with and I don't have to discipline anyone or solve anyone's problems (like I have to do on a daily basis as a manager). That is really the reason I'm always looking for my next cruise. It is my "happy place":D
jaxcruiser23 Posted July 29, 2011 #49 Share Posted July 29, 2011 I think we fellow cruiser's just love the anticipation of waiting on our cruise to come and when it get's here and we go on our cruise then get off, then the excitement is gone,so we book more and more to get the anticipation back. But as for right now me and hubby don't have any cruise's book,BUT,we are working on one right now with our travel agent. We plan on going on the Dream again for a New Year's cruise.Never been on one of these so i'm really excited about it.I hope we can book it when he get's home tonight.:D
KimtheCruiser Posted July 29, 2011 #50 Share Posted July 29, 2011 Five - and the cool thing is that 4 of them are tax deductible - 2 are group cruises, where I teach continuing education classes to medical coders - and 2 are to check out new ships (new to me) to prepare for leading the group cruises.
