auntierobin Posted October 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2011 Really, not much we didn't know already. I asked about deck plans - no answer, and the new itineraries - no answer. I did think I heard someone say something about itineraries in December.
Rare shof515 Posted October 10, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 10, 2011 im still a bit confused on the "cruising like a Norweigan" part..Is that suppose to be better then the current freestyle cruising? How does one cruise like a Norwegian if we never went to Norway or cruise from Norway...lol

Bars7816 Posted October 10, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2011 I'm thinking the big surprise might be related to the entertainment lineup on the Breakaway. The Blue Man Group got DH onto the Epic! :D Still want to know the intinerary for after the Bermuda season. Why the big secret?
JMHAM1 Posted October 10, 2011 #7 Share Posted October 10, 2011 I saw many online TA's with "groups" ready to book today but no deck plans. I would hate to book blind like that.
Silverman Posted October 10, 2011 #8 Share Posted October 10, 2011 Well I for one hope its not the video on their Facebook page. Im pretty sure they offically offended way to many cultures in that video. IMHO. WTH does it have to do with cruising???? Cruise like a Norwegian?????? WTH does that even mean? Seems to me they dropped the ball on this just like when they named the new ships. Just my nickle.
Ask4Jay Posted October 10, 2011 #9 Share Posted October 10, 2011 I hope they don't mean "Cruise like a Norseman" or Viking. I am too old to put on a helmet, take a battle axe and go raping and pillaging. What amazes me is that NCL probably paid dearly to come up with that fantastic slogan. P.R. gone wild. Bars7816 Posted October 10, 2011 #11 Share Posted October 10, 2011 That video CRUISE LIKE A NORWEGIAN is so dumb. It's all the young and the beautiful people! Young girls out shopping in high heels -- give me a break. Where are the regular prople? You know, the ones we really see on the cruise ships. Like us! :D Liked the BREAKAWAY video. Just had a horrible thought, though. If the ocean view cabins are back, then will the balcony cabins be too expensive?
smeyer418 Posted October 10, 2011 #12 Share Posted October 10, 2011 I think Cruising like a Norwegian means you have to eat a lot of Lute-fish.... Aren't the Norwegians considered the straight laced ones:rolleyes: in Scandinavia....and the butt of all the bad Norwegian jokes... or is it the Fins....the Swedes are definitely the fun ones.... Zeno Posted October 10, 2011 #13 Share Posted October 10, 2011 OK _ my opinion - I am pretty much a fan of NCL freestyle cruising but frankly what a truly dumb-a** slogan - "cruise like a Norwegian"????? What on earth does that mean??? What a total waste of advertising money.
DMH15 Posted October 10, 2011 #14 Share Posted October 10, 2011 Makes me recall my first trip to EPCOT. All the countries great restaurants. And then there was Norway with their fish buffet. Seems like they couldn't pay people to partake. There were these cute costumed kids out front practically begging us to enter. We never did. Do I want to cruise like a Norwegian? From my EPCOT memories I'd rather cruise like a Moroccan or a German (in the bier garden).
SuiteRose Posted October 10, 2011 #15 Share Posted October 10, 2011 After reading the comments on this tread, I had to go back and rewatch the video... I don't see where any culture was insulted??? I think that every culture mentioned takes pride in the exactly the things that NCL has said about them... Paris = Food ... Brazil = Party... etc... Also, the comment about all of the good looking people in the ad??? Well, should they have shown all of the overweight people in sweatpants charging into the chocolate buffet??? Really??? My take on "cruise like a Norwegian"... is to cruise like NCL! (Norwegian Cruise Line) I like the new campaign!!! ... makes me really long for my upcoming cruise... whenisthemidnightbuffet? Posted October 10, 2011 #16 Share Posted October 10, 2011 So how does a lattitude member book on Friday without using a TA? Is it only through calling NCL or can it be done through their website with category choices and pricing? Without deck plans seems a bit risky, no? Was this how it was done for the Epic? Your thoughts please.

It is also trying to get away from the idea that NCL is for older people. .... which I never thought was the case anyway.... not sure where people are getting that idea. They are trying to appeal to the younger, more hip, generation.
Silverman Posted October 11, 2011 #18 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Eat like a Parisan. Since when does NCL have food you can get in France? Le Bistro doesnt count. Chill like a Jamaican. Does this mean all Jamaican people are lazy? Love like a Venetian. Um do they love any different than someone in the US or elsewhere? Party like a Brazilian. Does this mean all Brazilians are drunks? This is what I got from it. To me its offensive. Sorry but it is. Now I saw the commercial tonight on HGTV. They took out the people parts and left in just the eat, party, love, shop, chill and well you get the idea. It was really very good like that. If they would have stuck to that I wouldnt have any problem at all. I dont get offended very easy but when I see a few cultures like that. Then it bothers me. I just dont see how people dont see it? Oh well at least the commercial is better now.

Rare mitsugirly Posted October 11, 2011 #21 Share Posted October 11, 2011 I wasn't really impressed by the new video. It wasn't anything special or made me want to cruise NCL. I remember watching the Epic video over and over and it had me saying "WOW" I want to cruise that ship....and I did! I also do not like the pricing on this ship. It is outrageous! Not anything I'll be paying any time soon. The interior rooms are 3x's what I paid for an Epic room. They have got to be out of their minds! I guess I'll be waiting until the prices come down (or I'll head to the Oasis if I want to pay that much). :(
OchreHand Posted October 11, 2011 #22 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Slogan sounds..interesting, I guess. I'll have to reserve judgement until I see the commercials. Come to think about it, it's been a while since I last saw an NCL commercial. Does anyone else think Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway song would fit,

I know the song, but never really listen to the words that close. It would be a perfect theme song. Of course, Bermuda is always more expensive than Caribbean or Fla/Bahamas. I heard it is to make up for the casino being closed for three days in port but still....
