Yeah...I've seen that too. Sigh. The way I look at, if someone has taken the time and effort to dress up and do the whole formal thing, I'm not going to roll into the MDR in jeans. It's their cruise too. The whole dress up is part of the experience. I respect their choice. What goes around, comes around.

Hmm..From the few posts above already..The secret is..No matter what the subject..It will always go back to dress in the MDR ;):D

Yep the dress code will always be a hot topic.

The clothing and fashion Industry is a Gazillion dollar industry!!! Just try to ignore it!!!

I for one love eating in the WNJMR a couple of nights out of the week...The food is great and you can relax, set your own pace show up when you want to!!! You can wear whatever makes you happy and just chill out! The Wnjmr is very under rated for dinner!!

1. If you order the drink of the day, ask for it in a regular glass as opposed to a "souvenir" glass (which you will end up leaving on the pool deck).

2. Reserve a floating beach mat in Labadee if you are going during the warmer months--the water is like bath water and it is the most relaxing time you can possibly have (IMHO).

3. The casino sometimes offers a $30 chips package for $20. It is limited to one purchase per passenger, and you pay $20 for $30 in chips. You can't cash the $30 out, but when you bet it and win you get paid in regular chips.

4. If you want to gorge yourself on lobster night, tell the waiter(s) in advance and make sure they keep a steady flow of lobsters coming. I ate nine on Liberty (hey, they're small!) but wanted a few more (to help digest the first nine :D). They told me that the galley closed at 10 p.m. to my dismay.

5. Many of the lounge chairs that are in the sun in the morning will be blocked later in the day, so try to choose a chair (if you get up early enough) that will be unobstructed even if the ship (or sun) moves.

On Radiance class ships, all the way up to deck 14, there are cute critters. Worth a look! Don't miss the "peek-a-boo" bridge on Voyager class ships. It's on deck 11 in front of the gym. The biggest hot tub on Voyager class is inside the gym. All Radiance, Voyager and Freedom class ships have saunas and steam rooms inside the gym locker rooms at no cost.

What are the cute critters and where can they be found? Thanks!

Why is it called waterfall urinal ?? And what's the view? I gotta know more about this one!

I don't want the external link police to get me but you can google the urinals of royal caribbean. the first link will take you to urinal dot net which has pictures of the granite waterfalls. Do they have these on the Oasis class by chance anyone?

So, (not that i am prudish, mind you), but you just stand there and pee out in the open onto the wall ?

I have never seen anything like that -- i guess i have to get out more !

I don't know whats funnier ... that waterfall urinal or that there is a website called urinals dot net ! LOL

These are on the seaward side of the elevator tower on the Radiance. Go all of the way to the top. Kids love them!

There is an open air, but covered, dining area to the real of the Windjammer serving areas on all of the Radiance Class ships. Keep walking back and eventually you will find it. Nothing beets dining while listening to the wake of the ship. (YES! The wake does make sounds!)

Is this only on Radiance class ships? I thought the WJ is towards the front? We will be on Explorer and would love this.

2. If you have OBC, you can cash it out in the casino. You might have to pay the 3% fee but free money is free money.

Better yet, just go the purser's desk and cash out - they don't charge the 3% like the do in the casino.

It may depend on the person working... I was told no, that I could no "cash out" my remaining OBC on the Explorer back in September. So I went to the Casino with the 3%.

More pictures of waterfall urinals on various Voyager class ships at:

http://www.voyager-class.com/pictures/publicspaces/00_restrooms/gallery.html

I thought there were some similar womens' versions with a stall facing a window too.

Tips..

  1. Boarding usually starts several hours before time listed in documents. Typically 10-11am or so.
  2. Radiance class ships - going from dining room to theater it can get very crowded around shops - so duck outside and walk forward then re-enter at theater area. Much faster and usually more pleasant walk.
  3. If Splenda is not on tables in WJ ask for it. Or usually there is a bowl of it at the beverage counters.
  4. C&A coupons for match-play bets in casino can be played at same time on Roullette one on red, one on black for almost sure $2.50 net profit (unless green zeros come up :()
  5. Radiance class - Congo bar area of Safari Club has great aft view of churning water and wake. Great late night view in moonlight.
  6. Trans-Atlantic repositioning cruises are tremendous bargains on a per day per person rate basis but often sell out fast.
  7. For wheelchair users on Radiance class - access to main floor of theater near stage is possible via deck four at forward end of cabin hallway. Door marked Crew Only are for passage forward to side doors into theater and are OK to use (perhaps ask - first time).
  8. Helipad is great place for star viewing since it is kept dark for Bridge crew.
  9. Tipping bartenders or servers well (as in $1-2 extra) can lead to impressive sized drinks. :D
  10. #1 secret they won't tell you... Rum Runners work. ;)
