CruzieSue Posted February 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 29, 2012 I've seen many posts about bring air fresheners - what kind exactly do you bring that is allowed onboard with no problems? Aerosol spray can? Liquid spray bottles (Febreeze, etc.)? Solids?
dixieva Posted February 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 29, 2012 I don't bring the spray. I use those small things that are decorative and have the liquid inside that constantly releases the good smell.

Rare bedfordmom Posted February 29, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 29, 2012 I use the ones similar to the cardboard car fresheners that hang off the mirror, getting them at the dollar store. They are small and easy to pack

LABCHICK Posted February 29, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 29, 2012 I use the ones similar to the cardboard car fresheners that hang off the mirror, getting them at the dollar store. They are small and easy to pack I use the same thing and they worked fine for us. I have never got them at the dollar store, but will have to check that out. Tyler80 Posted February 29, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 29, 2012 Why do people bring air fresheners?
Puffinater Posted February 29, 2012 #9 Share Posted February 29, 2012 Why do people bring air fresheners? I would guess for the same reason they use them at home.
dixieva Posted February 29, 2012 #10 Share Posted February 29, 2012 Well, to put it delicately-the bathroom has no exhaust fan:eek: so on certain occasions you will need something to "freshen the air"!
tikif6 Posted February 29, 2012 #11 Share Posted February 29, 2012 Why do people bring air fresheners? Some people eat to much and go to the bathroom and.... well you get the rest
Shaney3401 Posted February 29, 2012 #12 Share Posted February 29, 2012 We always bring scented Lysol. You kill 2 birds with one stone. We ALWAYS sanitize all handles, phones, light switches, remotes ect. Not just on cruises but hotels as well. Better safe than sorry :)
GXmanDC Posted February 29, 2012 #13 Share Posted February 29, 2012 We use Lysol spray or a natural air freshener we buy at the hardware store. It comes in many different forms and works better than anything else in my opinion. http://www.fresh-wave.com/pages/Spray.html
megr1125 Posted February 29, 2012 #14 Share Posted February 29, 2012 i usually will bring the small lysol sprays if i can find them....other than that, , most of the sweet smelling stuff makes me violently ill...
dmwnc1959 Posted February 29, 2012 #15 Share Posted February 29, 2012 I've always brought one of those Renuzit cone shaped types. Makes the room smell great.
cb at sea Posted February 29, 2012 #16 Share Posted February 29, 2012 Actually, there is a passive exhaust system in the cabin bathroom.....there's a vent in the ceiling or top of the wall...air is pulled out all of the time.
ksuds Posted February 29, 2012 #17 Share Posted February 29, 2012 We always bring that little cone shape thing with the plastic lid. They work great in the bathroom and stateroom. Regardless of someone using the restroom, I think they always have a certain bad odor.
fischymom Posted February 29, 2012 #18 Share Posted February 29, 2012 We bring scentsy auto disks or room tins depending on what kind of scent I want to have.

This is exactly why I was wondering why people would bring an air freshener. I guess I'm in the minority because I don't use air fresheners at home and wouldn't think of bringing something like that with me on vacation. Kudos to those who think of everything! :)
dixieva Posted February 29, 2012 #20 Share Posted February 29, 2012 If there is an exhaust system in the bathroom then I have never had a room where it worked very well!!
Big_G Posted February 29, 2012 #21 Share Posted February 29, 2012 If there is an exhaust system in the bathroom then I have never had a room where it worked very well!! Usually you can't miss the exhaust event. I've never had a cabin on any ship that you couldn't here it and it is plainly visible in the ceiling. CruzieSue Posted February 29, 2012 Author #24 Share Posted February 29, 2012 This is exactly why I was wondering why people would bring an air freshener. I guess I'm in the minority because I don't use air fresheners at home and wouldn't think of bringing something like that with me on vacation. Kudos to those who think of everything! :) Some have said the bathrooms, and sometimes hallways, have the sewage smell. Others say the rooms have a smell. Guess it's like some hotels that have a musty smell. Mostly just wondering if it was bad enough to warrant bringing air freshener. Looks like most people bring everything but the kitchen sink (and some probably would if they could sneak it in) Ha Ha !! :D Appreciate all the replies !!
