mcd1411 Posted April 5, 2012 #577 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Hi radio, loving your daily review of the ship. Was on Silhouette last Oct before she came over to NewYork. She is an amazing ship and the staff and crew are fantastic. Glad to hear your looking after her for us, we are sailing with her again in 7 weeks time, once she is back over in Europe. I hope the lawn is in better shape by the time we are on. The lawn was closed for the full 2 weeks we were on the ship, to get it ready for coming to the USA for her launch there. Keep up the great job your doing i don't know where you find the time to write and upload photos. Mnay thanks Barry.

Rare Radio Posted April 5, 2012 Author #586 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Hello everyone. . .Today may have been my best port day so far. . . I was able to do some Shopping. . .Explore the City of St. Johns. . . I had a “Radio Friendly” Day at Kings Casino. . . Oh yeah, and I had a wonderful day at Sandals Antigua today. Wow. . . I love it hear in Antigua. It seems however a lot like it was in St Lucia, as there is so much to do and I didn’t even scratch the surface. Everyone already knows that Sandals is an Ultra Inclusive Resort, so I wont spend any time discussing the resort. . .I will just say I had a great time. I will let the photos speak for themselves. . . The city of St John today was in full swing. . .This was a busy city, and it really comes alive when the Cruise Ships come in to port. Today of coarse there was our ship and the Costa Luminosa. Taxis were everywhere. . .they were arguing about who talked to the Passovers first, money was exchanging hands very fast. When I arrived back to the Port area, it seemed like there were a dozen open air bars that were packed ! I forgot that Antigua has Casino gaming, and I was happy to relax in the Casino for an hour or so while I was heading back to the Ship. I saw a ton of Crew from Silhouette and Luminosa having a great time one the Roulette Wheel. It is said that Antigua has 365 Beaches. . .”One for every day of the year”. . .I only went to one beach, and I saw another 5-6 beaches. . .I am willing to bet Antigua Tourism Bureau a large cup of Starbucks that. . .Well they might be right! The beaches are breathtaking, and I wanted to stay for at least a few more days just to see and experience a few more things. Here are a few pics from today. . . Tomorrow we are scheduled to arrive in Philipsburg, St. Maartin at 8AM Thanks for the nice Comments. . . Radio Ok, now. . .All passengers pass by this on their way to the Gangway, so we don’t wont to leave any passengers today-right ? The Steel Drum band was really very good. . . Celebrity Silhouette at the dock. . .She really commands attention We are joined today by Costa Luminosa. . .(She is not a sister ship of Concordia) There were a lot of buildings like this that all served cold beer! It was a busy day for the vendors. . . .
Rare Radio Posted April 5, 2012 Author #587 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Here are a few more pics. . . Radio I rent a scooter to go up to Sandals Antigua. . . I think I want to sat here for a few days. . . The ground here are all so manicured. . . The pools were so nice The beaches here may be ranked near the top of the Antigua 365 ! If I came back here again. . .I will try out the sailboats .
Rare Radio Posted April 5, 2012 Author #588 Share Posted April 5, 2012 These will be the last for tonight. . .I have many more that i will post when I get home. It's time for dinner now. . . Thanks for tuning in ! Radio I love coming back to the Silhouette Welcome center after each port ! The party band “Kinosis” keeps passengers entertained during the Sail away party. . . We are just about ready to pull away. . . Silhouette pulls slowly away from the Pier See you later, Luminosa. . .We wish you smooth sailing. So long to you Antigua. . . I will miss you the most from all of the ports this week. .

megr1125 Posted April 5, 2012 #590 Share Posted April 5, 2012 lovely photos as usual Radio... Hmmm...you really saw a LOT of Antigua in such a short amount of time....and you even found out that the beer is cold too?:D I have to agree with you about =X='s welcome back stations...nothing beats a cold beverage and cool cloth in the hot!! It's also nice that all these casinos are Radio friendly! Enjoy St Maarten..that's one of my favorite places. If you go to Maho, do *NOT* miss the ship... have a yummy dinner!! I am booked on the Summit next Feb 2013 with the same ports and it's great to see what I can look forward to!! Thanks so much, Radio, for the time and effort that I know you are putting into this thread. Rare BecciBoo Posted April 6, 2012 #593 Share Posted April 6, 2012 Enjoy St Maarten..that's one of my favorite places. If you go to Maho, do *NOT* miss the ship... have a yummy dinner!! Meg: if you go to Maho in November, you must promise to come back with a traffic report. As we plan to end up at Maho for the afternoon landings and we sure want to leave in time to brave the traffic back to the pier. Maybe Radio will be doing his "live" then and if either of you go, please post the situation. Thanks Bec
