The grainy pictures are from HERE and sometimes they'll swing the cameras around from the Centennial Bridge and follow the ships into the Pedro Miguel Locks, then point them back at the bridge again.

The other pictures are from a real 'pain in the rear' site that sometimes jams and sticks. It has five pre-set positions that it switches between and it's a real crap shoot in getting lucky and a lot of patience. It can be found HERE under Pacific Access Channel (west view HiRes). But it is a difficult camera to work with and try to get webcam grabs, more frustrating that any of the others.

Glad I was able to get the web cam grabs and post them for everyone that missed the transit. It was very cool to watch.
I could watch ships transit hundreds of times, and am never bored.
I've been posting web cam grabs of full and partial transits of all sorts cruise ships going through the Panama Canal since before 2008. On one web site alone I have posted "61 different cruise ships from 25 different cruise lines or organizations, over three dozen tall ships, sailboats, and racing yachts, and 5 historic US military vessels in tow headed for the scrapyard". Since then I've posted on other sites (including this one) dozens more cruise ships in transit and various scrapyard Navy ships in tow. This thread alone has 32 web cams grabs, multiply that times how many ships I covered. That's a lot of posts! I must have dedicated over 500 hours in this past time. It really is a lot of fun! :D:D:D

What you are doing is copying the (embedded) LINK to where that picture is coming from that is being displayed on that particular website, not the actual picture itself.

On a web site where you have a live streaming image or an image that updates at regular intervals you have to right click on that image and 'Save as...' to 'Desktop' or other folder in your computer, then download the saved picture to whatever photo album you want. Hope that makes sense.

Westerdam (April 29th), Statendam (May 2nd), and Amsterdam (May 3rd) are the final Holland-America transits of this season. The next time we will see them again in the Panama Canal is after the Alaska season is over.

April 29th will be a cool day to watch as there will be FOUR ships transiting; one eastbound and three westbound.
