missjanet Posted July 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2012 We are taking our first Celebrity cruise in September on the Millennium - there will be 2 "at sea" days. Can you give us an idea of what might be offered on those days? We enjoy wine or drink tastings, dance lessons (if I can convince DH), trivia or "Name That Tune" type of games, things along that line. We don't play Bingo or use the casino or do Karaoke at all. Thanks for your help. Janet

Janet Hi Janet:) they offer the items you mentioned and they also have food demos which can be quite fun....they have their version of Iron Chef...2 chefs each with a passenger as an assistant and 3 passengers are judges. They also have the food demos..The Chefs of the Specialty Restaurants make samples with tastings for the audience. They also offer lecturers on different subjects too. trabeler Posted July 1, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 1, 2012 There will be sports activities such as a putting contest, pool volleyball against the officers, etc. Don't forget the galley tour, ice carving demo, fruit carving demo, cake decorating demo... Of course, not all of the above on one day, but just an idea of what to expect.

tserface Posted July 1, 2012 #7 Share Posted July 1, 2012 We love Celebrity, but do find it to be a little boring compared to RCL. They do *some* crazy stuff like "Dancing with the Stripes" and a married couples game, but no Quest or pool contests that I've seen. The people playing trivia are a lot more hard core on Celebrity than on RCL (in our experience). That takes some of the fun out of it, but we still enjoy it. There are lots of times on sea days where we can't figure out anything to do (RCL tends to pack the schedule with dance lessons and other fun things) and so we just play cards some where we can find a place to sit. The Celebrity experience is definitely a lot quieter and less crazy "family fun" than RCL. We like both kinds of cruises. Tom only done RCL so far. have fun doing the belly flop. kinda getting the feeling that X is too stuffy for this. X'ers, am i gonna have fun or be bummed. TeaBag Posted July 1, 2012 #8 Share Posted July 1, 2012 One of the sea days will have the big brunch. It is usually advertised in the dailies although a lot of people seem not to find it.

X'ers, am i gonna have fun or be bummed. Guess it depends on what you are looking for in a cruise. I don't think it is stuffy at all but then again, I enjoy just finding a lounge chair with a good book and a drink:) The Dancing with the Stripes is an evening event and I have been a judge in that before. I think it is a lot of fun:) and the audience has always seemed to enjoy it. (On the sailings I have been on anyway). During the day.....I don't always care about "being busy"....I don't consider it stuffy at all.......just more laid back and relaxing:D
