ice? for ice skating

This may seem like a really silly question but the ice skating rink on the Allure of the Seas, is it really ice or is it synthetic material that is suppose to "feel" like ice. :confused: I have once to an event (not a cruise) where they call it ice skating but it was more like highly polished plastic that gave the illusion of ice. Any way could some one let know if its REAL ICE lol :o

It was real ice on the Explorer and Freedom, so I'm assuming it's real ice on Allure too.

I remember watching undercover boss and seeing something that looked like a foam on a Norwegian ship. Nothing like that on RCL.

They use mini zambonies to clean the ice. I have skated on the ice and the skates they issue for use were not very sharp and the ice was not the best for public skating.

That was on Epic. That ice skating floor they laid out on the basketball court was an absolute joke. Sheehan rightfully did away with it after that show.

Its real ice for sure. Here is a picture of what is probably the worlds smallest zamboni and a worker shoveling the ice.
