gliles Posted October 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 1, 2012 Not meant to start a war but why are the daily tips for the suites and mini suitres 50¢ more per day? It's such a nominal amount it doesn't matter but I do wonder why the difference especially between Balcony and mini, I can understand a difference between anything and full suite. Inquiring minds wanna know...
cruzsnooze Posted October 2, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 2, 2012 Because they can extract a few more cents out of you. You are right about the balcony and mini suite not having a difference but a full suite is much bigger and the bathroom alone would Warrant the extra 50 cents. Alaskanb Posted October 2, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 2, 2012 Full bath in the mini-suite...
cruzsnooze Posted October 2, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 2, 2012 Full bath in the mini-suite...Not a really big deal and doesn't explain why a full suite and mini suite are tipped at the same rate. I think the mini should go at the same balcony rate but it's a little extra Princess manages to get out of us.
cb at sea Posted October 2, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 2, 2012 Your cabin attendant has more space to clean....and I reckon they figure if you can afford a suite, you can afford the additional tip!
KirkNC Posted October 2, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 2, 2012 Maybe because a steward can't clean as many rooms because they bigger???

That's what I thought and I SWEAR I don't care, we'll pay the extra 50¢, we'll put a lot more than that in the casino :p I was just curious as it made no sense. Never experienced that on other lines. Rare PescadoAmarillo Posted October 2, 2012 #8 Share Posted October 2, 2012 I think that suite passengers should pay even more. $0.50 a day per person really doesn't reflect the incremental work required to clean a suite vs. an inside cabin. Just the bathroom alone is worth more than that.
Loonbeam Posted October 2, 2012 #9 Share Posted October 2, 2012 That's my take on it. I actually concur that suites should probably be another $1 above the minis.. Mini's being $.50 above the balcony/OV/inside makes sense to me because of the extra seating space and more importantly the tub that has to be cleaned (takes a lot of time to do the extra tile. Maybe because a steward can't clean as many rooms because they bigger???
Rare TracieABD Posted October 2, 2012 #10 Share Posted October 2, 2012 It's the bathtub... A tub is a pain in the wazoo to clean. :)
