Should I Upgrade???

Fairy just called my DH, supposed to be calling me next. Destiny, offer from an 8M Aft Ext to OS for $450 total? Would put my rate at $590 pp for the 5day itinerary. Need some quick advice please!!! Never done the aft balc before, was looking forward to it. Oh, decisions decisions. TIA.

Either way you are on a cruise, can't go wrong. I think I would go for...I don't know!!!! If you were excited about the aft, keep it - and let us know what you decide.

Thanks everyone, I was thinking seemed kind of high too, but may be the only time we look at a suite, so just had to mull it over.

Agreed, & it's Casino rate where we're getting $75 pp, so really could say it's $289 :D. & thanks to the folks on here, I was able to get a few price drops after inital booking.

Grand Suite...maybe for that price. Ocean suite? No. Keep what you have - you got a good deal.

As it has been noted on another topic, they tend to give calls for upSELLs and not upgrades. There isn't much upgrade to it when they charge such a large amount for the change. They are just masking an upSELL offer.

Thanks for the correction,,,, in the heat of the moment, while I was waiting for my "upsell" call I mistakenly called it an "upgrade". Who cares what it's called anyway?

$90 a day sounds pricey. Think of all the stuff you could buy. Besides the OS on the older ships are not that nice.

I agree--keep the balcony. I think that's too much to pay for upgrade to OS on a 5-day cruise. I wouldn't even consider it.

I wouldn't move for that amount. It would have to be an offer I don't even have to think about - like $50 p.p.:)

I'd stick with the extended Aft balcony. Aft is an awesome location!! And the wake is great, and very relaxing.

In my case, fairy called the hubby first, and he's smart enough to say you have to check w/ the wife. So, fairy called me & left a voice mail. I called him back, after already knowing I was probably going to say no. He gave me all the info, and said if I change my mind to call him back. So, seemed to me that it wasn't an immediate answer kind of thing. I'm sure he's calling others on the list and they may take the deal, but I am very happy w/ my decision to stick w/ what I booked.

Enjoy your aft balcony, we had 7330 on Destiny and now we've got an aft on Liberty. Nothing like sitting and watching the wake while the sun rises or sets.

Another vote for the aft... I would not give up my aft unless it was for an aft wrap.

Then at $90 a night, I can buy a lot of drinks and trinkets for that.

Keep the aft and pass the sunscreen, make another drink from your Bon Voyage bottle!

I would NEVER give up an aft-extended up for a suite on Carnival! And the price they offered it to you at was way too high, not worth an extra $90 a night! Yikes! You did the right thing, suites aren't all that great on Carnival. If you want a real suite with a butler, try NCL.
