vmom Posted November 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2012 book more than one ship at a time at Princess Cays? Just wondering...thanks. I've been there several times and never have had any other ships there. I think it would be quite crowded with more than one ship. I find it a bit too crowded with just the number of passengers from one ship.
MCC retired Posted November 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2012 Yes, only 1 ship at a time @ Princess Cays. It would be far too crowded for more than 1 . For our 11/09/13 Emerald cruise our itinerary was changed recently. Booted off of Princess Cays to Nassau instead (ugh!). I guess another ship had more seniority. Daisyloo Posted November 16, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2012 More likely that damage done by hurricane had not been repaired yet.
Putterdude Posted November 17, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 17, 2012 We have never seen more than 1 ship there at a time. Hope they fix the damage soon as we will be there twice in January.
Hank1468 Posted November 17, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 17, 2012 More likely that damage done by hurricane had not been repaired yet. The previous poster's cruise isn't for another year... in 2013.
Andos Posted November 17, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 17, 2012 We sail in four weeks time for Xmas. As I have never been to either Cays or Nassau, I would be happy with either rather than lose out because of Sandy. Andos. 1025cruise Posted November 17, 2012 #10 Share Posted November 17, 2012 Holland America uses HMC, not PC. The 2013 move was probably operational, as ships are already stopping at PC again.
Rare Coral Posted November 17, 2012 #11 Share Posted November 17, 2012 I know Holland America uses PC. HAL has Half Moon Cay - their own private island. I don't think it is common for HAL to stop there but I I wouldn't be surprised if they have stopped there if Princess ships are not scheduled. Supposedly most people think HAL's private island is better than Princess's island. There have been times when other Carnival brands and even non-Carnival brands have been to Princess Cays. Crystal and I believe Regent has stopped there before. Friends on a Carnival cruise stopped there once when sailing during a hurricane and couldn't make their port stops. satxdiver Posted November 19, 2012 #13 Share Posted November 19, 2012 The several times we have stopped at PC, we were the only ship there. Agree that if two ships stopped there at the same time it would be extremely crowded and enough reason to stay on the ship!
