Before moving up to the next deck I wanted to also mention two other venues on the Fiesta Deck (remember; 'eat, drink, and by pictures!' ;)) that are just off the atrium and forward: the Casino and Club 6 (even more like a Fiesta now!). Both venues will be covered later in this virtual tour of Royal Princess. If you are a cigar aficionado, Churchill's cigar lounge is also located on Fiesta Deck just forward of the casino on the port side.

 

Do you know if there will be a sports bar or something similar on the Royal?

Other than showing sports events on MUTS or in the Vista Lounge (?) the only other place I could see that would have sporting events on TV would be Churchill's. When I was in there on Ruby Princess (and I don't even smoke;)) there was always a game or news playing. The closest bar to Churchill's is next door in the Casino/Club 6 area, but it does not appear that there is a dedicated Sports Bar on Royal Princess that I can see on the deck plans. It would be nice if Club 6 was used during the day as a Sports Bar and up until the nightlife 'kicked in' as a place to watch games.

For our seafood lovers this new bar features pearls of the ocean fresh from the sea including sushi, sashimi, ceviche, and caviar. (Princess Cruises)

Now, I have never heard of 'ceviche' (sort of like I had never heard of a Bellini) so another quick stop by my friend the internet reveals this:

 

"Ceviche (pronounced seh-vee-chay) is a seafood dish popular in the coastal regions of the Americas, especially Central and South America. The dish is typically made from fresh raw fish marinated in citrus juices, such as lemon or lime, and spiced with ají or chili peppers. Additional seasonings, such as chopped onions, salt, and coriander, may also be added. Ceviche is usually accompanied by side dishes that complement its flavors, such as sweet potato, lettuce, corn, avocado or plantain. As the dish is not cooked with heat, it must be prepared fresh.

Now I love me some good sushi. :D Mmmm. This 'ceviche' may be another one of things I'll just have to try to see if I like it. :cool:

 

We had ceviche when we did Captain's Table.... you will absolutely love it!

Yes I'm sure I will cope! Seriously I understand that some people similarly impacted didn't get upgraded so I am grateful.

Thanks to the OP for starting this thread.

 

My DH and I are booked on the Maiden Caribbean sailling.

 

We are looking forward to sitting on our extended deluxe balcony and enjoying the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.:D

I am loving all of the information about the new Royal Princess. My sister and I are booked on the October TA. We looked into the 7 day maiden voyage in June but felt the 18 day in October was way more economical.

 

My only concern is that we are in a mini-suite on the Marina deck, right in the curve under the overhang. From the pictures I've seen so far it looks like people will be able to look down into our cabin. I guess we may have to use our curtains more often. :rolleyes: I can't wait for more info, please keep it coming. Kathy

Time to wrap up this section on the stunning atrium and the many exciting and entertainment venues that it offers, as well as some of the major venues just forward of the atrium that we have briefly touched on that will be covered later.

 

Up until now I had been using a plain deck plan so that we could become more familiar with the location of these venues in the atrium and piazza area without too many distractions. Here is the deck plan from the Princess Cruises website showing all of these same areas but with more significantly more detail, indicating perspective seating arrangements and other fine tuning that were not shown in the previous plans.

I think that when someone (an adult) is standing inside SeaWalk they will definitely be able to see you (or your knees) while you are sitting on your balcony. But unless they stoop or sit down (or it's a child) inside SeaWalk, they will probably only be able to see a couple of feet of the flooring inside of your stateroom. In all reality they will be more focused on the views out to sea, forward and aft, and straight down, not back inward into those staterooms.

 

Take a look at this recently released picture and imagine someone walking though SeaWalk and estimate how high an adult head would be and what their line of sight would be back towards the cabins...

If it is a major concern you may want to move down a deck or two if at all possible.

This is a great thread...thank you. We have booked the Royal for February 2014 and are looking forward to sailing on a new ship. We have always went to Crooners after dinner so I am looking forward to the duelling pianos. Also, IC is our favour spot for lunch and a mid afternoon snack so seeing that that they have expanded the seating will hopefully make it easier to find a seat.

This ship looks so beautiful, and has so many places to relax and enjoy! I can't wait to hear the dueling pianos - I don't think I've ever seen those before (do they actually get up and fight? LOL)

 

I'd like to see that!! Maybe at 10 paces??

I will be cruising the Royal in December. I'm looking forward to many things. I think what I'm most looking forward to is a Princess ship with a new design. While I love the Princess ship's I've sailed I am looking forward to something different.:)

 

The first thing I will do when I get onboard is to drop my carry on luggage in my room, book Specialty Restaurants, book the Sanctuary, and then explore the ship.

Definitely give the ceviche a try. Hopefully, Princess will do it well. I love ceviche.
