Ex-Airbalancer Posted February 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2013 I could see it leaving late today since a lot of flights were cancelled yesterday And what difference does it make to you if it leaves late ??????? If you worked at the port , it could make a difference in your life

Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted February 9, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2013 If you're talking about delays in leaving from Ft. Lauderdale, I believe it is caused by all the construction in the area. The ship can't leave until all the supplies are loaded. When we were scheduled to leave in November, the dock was still covered with pallets of unloaded supplies. I believe the trucks are experiencing problems getting into the port area, particularly on weekends. So I would not count on your parents being able to watch you depart on the webcam. The construction isn't going to go away anytime soon.

Christine Frances Posted February 10, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 10, 2013 Looks like it is sailing at 8pm. It may be waiting for flights to come in from all the snowbound airports.
TeaBag Posted February 10, 2013 #10 Share Posted February 10, 2013 Maybe the ship is half empty because of all those who can't get out of the North East.

luvstosail Posted February 10, 2013 #12 Share Posted February 10, 2013 I feel bad for anyone in the a NE area. We are sailing the Eclipse in a few weeks and always try to fly out at least a day or two days before we go. 28 inches of snow today ! Luvstosail, Boston Ma. ramman Posted February 10, 2013 #13 Share Posted February 10, 2013 Did it look like the stern area of the ship was dark as in without lights on many of the decks when the sailed out?

patty1955 Posted February 10, 2013 #16 Share Posted February 10, 2013 Celebrity Cruises Weather Update February 9, 2013 8:00 p.m. E.S.T Celebrity Cruises continues to closely monitor the severe winter storm affecting much of the East Coast, which has been impacting travel in the region. Celebrity Cruises will delay the departure time for the following sailing: Celebrity Eclipse will now depart Port Everglades, Florida, at 8:30 p.m., four hours later than originally scheduled. Celebrity Summit will now depart San Juan, Puerto Rico, at 10:30 p.m., two hours later than originally scheduled.
Annecj Posted February 10, 2013 #17 Share Posted February 10, 2013 Celebrity announced late departures for both the Eclipse and the Summit today because of the snow up north delaying the arrival of passengers. Eclipse was not scheduled to sail until 8:30pm.
ariawoman Posted February 10, 2013 #18 Share Posted February 10, 2013 They delayed it in order to hopefully allow some passengers to get to the ship. How thoughtless of them :-) Hopefully, there will not be a delay for when your parents want to watch the sailaway. Sometimes it does happen on time. :-) They can still watch it at night, just won't see individuals so much as the daytime.

jveevers Posted February 10, 2013 #20 Share Posted February 10, 2013 I was on the sailing Jan 26th and it went 2 hours late, due to loading of supplies. It went about 8.00 pm tonight, due to flight problems from NE. But, the other 5 ships left on time , almost. Noordam or was it Eurodam was about 3 hours late. Gordoncruickshank Posted February 10, 2013 #22 Share Posted February 10, 2013 It was late on both 9th and 17th November cruises and on both was probably late leaving other ports more often than not.

Gordoncruickshank Posted February 10, 2013 #24 Share Posted February 10, 2013 Has it ever left on time since it returned from Europe. If not would they not be better giving all of us a 6.30 departure time rather than this continual wait to leave.
Bobal Posted February 10, 2013 #25 Share Posted February 10, 2013 If they miss it, they can go back to web cam and watch the video of sailaway.. Thanks for this info - I didn't realise there were videos. Actually, if you look at the page for videos of Eclipse leaving, every one one of them for the last 8 sailings has been in the dark or dusk, so I'm guessing they've never left on time.
