cynbar Posted February 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2013 Has anyone used this to tour Monaco and Monte Carlo? Feedback? I understand the city bus system is easy to use, but this would give commentary also, so we're considering it.

I have walked to both sides, I have driven with someone to both sides and other than the Petite Train( which you had to stay on) this was the only way to go,but the HOHO bus for first time visitor's would be great IMHO.They are new since I was last thtere.Go for it.:D
KirkNC Posted February 24, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2013 Public bus is great, 1€ per ride, clean and they go everywhere you want.
homeinboca Posted March 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2013 We used the HOHO bus in Monte Carlo, it was great to get around. You can catch it right where the tenders drop you off and takes you all over. It's a pretty small city, but we got off at the Casino, the Palace and the Gardens, worked perfectly for us. What a beautiful place!

Thanks M Hi cruisegirl1, I'm pretty sure since Le Grand Tour HOHO bus is run by a private company, they don't adhere to public holidays. According to the brochure high season starts April 1, and they run every 15 minutes. You can find a PDF of the brochure at visitmonaco dot com. it's got all the details and a map. Rare Cruise Junky Posted March 25, 2013 #8 Share Posted March 25, 2013 Really watch how many ships are in port. Last September there were three ships in port and every stop on the HoHo were packed with at least 50 people waiting for a spot. City bus is so easy, frequent and no lines. Monaco has one of the best bus systems I've seen

littleladymaria Posted June 2, 2013 #10 Share Posted June 2, 2013 Yes, we had a one day stop from the ship in Monaco. We took the hop on hop off bus and then we went to the train station and spent some time in Nice. It was a great day!!!!
Rare Keith1010 Posted June 3, 2013 #11 Share Posted June 3, 2013 I find that it is not just how many ships that are in port that make the difference in this area but rather all of the other tourists. If you get out early that is good. Weather will be a little nicer and less crowded. Keith
