Rare LHT28 Posted March 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2013 Any of the Oceania ships They have less passengers & no formal nights, open dining Very few children & limited smoking areas (only 2) Many inclusions for the price Not for everyone's budget though Lyn
paul929207 Posted March 23, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2013 Ocean Princess. Small (680 passengers) and great itineraries
skandls Posted March 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2013 Oasis and Allure for entertainment. Seabourne Pride for service and interesting ports. Oceania Marina for the cabin and country club atmosphere. Celebrity Solstice for the restaurant Blu - I like the ethnic influences. My number one overall was a barge trip in Burgundy - the cabin was so so small but the food was outstanding and the included tours very interesting. mikewrit Posted March 24, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 24, 2013 Norwegian Jade. Great ship, wonderful crew, two terrific itineraries -- Istanbul to Barcelona and Israel and Egypt out of Civitavecchia (Rome). Somewhat odd: She was built for Hawaii and is chock full of that culture.

cruzeluver Posted March 24, 2013 #7 Share Posted March 24, 2013 The Celebrity Silhouette has understated and wow factors all in one. I'll second that. We'd sail the Silhouette again, no problem.
sail7seas Posted March 24, 2013 #8 Share Posted March 24, 2013 We've been on 15 HAL ships (most a great many times-that includes a ship no longer sailing in the fleet), about 5 Princess ships, and one or two Celebrity ships years ago but sailed Celebrity about five or six times. We had one cruise on RCI and one on Carnival, sort of but that's a long story. Our two favorite ships are Maasdam and Noordam. We like other ships (some a lot) but those are the two we love. Maasdam is older, is quietly elegant and exceedingly comfortable with lovely nooks and crannies to enjoy a quiet conversation, read a book, have a cocktail with a friend/DW/DH etc I love her art and it is found throughout, her MDR is very beautiful to my eyes with fabulous glass ceiling. Her cabins are larger than some other ships, her Suite verandas very large. But most of all, on Maasdam, we love her crew. Yes, some come and go and Captains have recently changed as have Hotel Directors but there is a core of crew that makes Maasdam's crew wonderful. Our other favorite ship, a tie with Maasdam, is Noordam. She is larger, more features than Maasdam, more lounges, third set of elevators/companionways, but for us a very special, very beautiful ship. We will always love Noordam. She is the fourth in a series of sisters and to our eye, HAL did it right with her. Whatever mistakes they may have made on her earlier sisters, were corrected on Noordam and she is a very, very special ship to us. :) Also, a wonderful crew!!! Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas. :) The entertainment, activities, and all around ship design are like no others. The ships are jaw dropping. Awesome, awesome ships.
