Olney Posted April 25, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2013 There is no acrobatic show unless the wait staff has had too much to drink. It is strickly a one night during a 7 day cruise to replicate the great New York restaurant. There are mixed opinions as to the quality of the meal at the cost. The price at the moment is $39 per person. If you want to try it I would suggest reservations be made before the cruise date. It seems to normally fill up. The HAL website gives all the information. Rare geoherb Posted April 25, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2013 Here's the menu on HAL's website. We ate there on the Westerdam in December and have it booked for the Veendam next month. DH said it was one of the best meals he has ever eaten. I'm looking forward to trying something different, perhaps the fish, although the lamb chops were very tasty last time. Krazy Kruizers Posted April 25, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 25, 2013 Le Cirque is from a famous restaurant in New York and Las Vegas -- very pricey. It is a special dinner held one evening in the Pinnacle Grill. There is special menu for this evening. The cost is $39 per person. We have gone quite a few times and enjoy it very much. You will read that some like it and some don't. Only you can decide it is worth the money.

Krazy Kruizers Posted April 25, 2013 #8 Share Posted April 25, 2013 If you decide to do the dinner, when you return to your cabin there will be a cute little box on your bed. Inside the box are 2 tiny drawers -- each containing a chocolate:

Aruba Posted April 25, 2013 #11 Share Posted April 25, 2013 Le Cirque Menu Appetizers: Lobster Cocktail - poached lobster with haricot vert and citrus That should be Lobster Salad, not Lobster Cocktail. I like my martinis but a lobster cocktail would have to be an acquired taste. The Lobster Salad IMO is the most delicious salad on the ship (or if I wanted to be melodramatic, the world). I get it at every Le Cirque event.
Aruba Posted April 25, 2013 #12 Share Posted April 25, 2013 PS - I know you meant Lobster Cocktail as in Shrimp Cocktail, not mixed drink. I was just making a joke.:D
Beachnut53 Posted April 25, 2013 #13 Share Posted April 25, 2013 Bummer...we were there as a guest of a 4-star Marnier ...perhaps she got all the chocolates for our party of 8? Try the pasta - it was fabulous!! It is well worth the additional charge IMO.
Krazy Kruizers Posted April 25, 2013 #14 Share Posted April 25, 2013 The box delivered to our cabin with the 2 chocolates -- this was the first time we have gotten that box. Since this was a longer cruise, there were 2 Le Cirques - so we got 2 boxes -- one for each time we were there.

No theres no acrobats but any dinner in the Pinnacle is always worth it.
jlp879 Posted April 26, 2013 #21 Share Posted April 26, 2013 We recently enjoyed dining at an evening at Le Cirque on the April 14th sailing of the Nieuw Amsterdam. Alas, we received no little box of chocolates on our return to our room that evening. It was our first time at Le Cirque, but not the first Pinnacle experience for us. Should I ask them to mail me the delicious-looking chocolates?

Krazy Kruizers Posted April 26, 2013 #23 Share Posted April 26, 2013 There were no truffles on our Westerdam cruise -- either for the regular Pinnacle dinner or Le Cirque.
world~citizen Posted April 26, 2013 #24 Share Posted April 26, 2013 We didn't find that the food or presentation of Le Cirque was worth worth it - or at least it didn't measure up to the hype. We highly recommend the PG though on a regular night. However, if you don't try for yourself, you will never know for certain given the mixed revues so by all means try it and let us know what you think..
