Omg--free cruise for me

Recommended Posts

Thanx bunches. Who knows what I may have missed in the past. I have never gone into this section before. You can bet I'll be checking it from now on!

Yes.. do check back there often (more than once in a blue moon)... sorry, couldn't resist! :D

I'm pretty sure the offers are based on casino spending and not how many times you have cruised with Carnival. I've only been on two 5 day cruises with them and get the offer from the casino. My first one came in my email with a number to call. Yesterday a PVP called me again to offer. The sailings have all been 1-3 weeks out from the time of the offer, so you usually have to be able to get time off easily. In our case, DH can't really get time off in the next 2 weeks so it is not going to be used.

What a shame this time around, but at least you have been able to take advantage in the past.

I will certainly be checking for offers in the future. I will also start opening promo emails & snail mails from Carnival. I've never bothered in the past cuz I had no idea they may offer an actual real deal. I guess that's what I get for my ignorance......lesson learned.

Its hard with the amount of junk mail ALL companies send now. Hopefully you get one soon.

My parents currently have a cruise booked for January 2014. When I showed them this tab, there was a free cruise listed there. We called and all free rooms had been scooped up by 3:30 that day :(...maybe next time!

it is darn irritating to me. We are VIP on Carnival Drop a lot of bucks..book Carnival Tours..DH donates to the Casino generously....

Why do WE not get offers like that?

We are booked and paid for on the Breeze...Next cruise will be in May of 2014. It will NOT be on Carnival.

Talk about bad public relations.....but then Celebrity is something we have wanted to try for a long time.

It all works out I guess. We needed a kick in the butt to break the Carnival habit. AND I don't resent upgrades. That is the luck of the draw. But to give just give free cruises to some VIP passengers and not to others.............that is just plain stupid.

If free cruises go to big casino spenders...different story. That is a good business move.

In all fairness, every time I talk to my PVP I tell her to let me know of any and all deals and offers. Maybe that got me on a call list.

So, I was checking my Carnival.com account under VIFP offers and a play and stay offer was there--free cabin on select cruise--BUT all the cruises were past and the offer said you had to call by April 19th. So, i called my PVP to ask what was up.

He was out, I left him a message--one of his associates called me back to say that was an error, but she had some current cruises available--Low and behold, she got me on the Splendor -in a balcony on June 18 --8 day cruise--for FREE. I just had to pay the taxes of $112 per person.:D

I am soooooo excited. Booking airfare today and sailing in 20 days!!:D

This sounds like a Casino offer to me. Lose big bucks in the casino and you are rewarded with a free trip. Have a great trip.

Where they hope for a repeat performance! :D

... and the player hopes for a different outcome... ;)

My offers on the Carnival website showed the offer for the first time last week, but with an expired April expiration date. And my PVP called me to tell me about it. She told me the offer expired May 31st, and gave me several sale dates for the next two weeks only for Europe, Alaska, Caribbean, or Bahamas. I didn't book, and now this week the free cruise offer shows online that it doesn't expire until the end of June. I have cruised 99 days with Carnival and always play slots in the casino.

For those interested, I just got an email that they've opened more sailings under this offer. If you play in the casino, you may want to check your VIFP profile to see if it's offered for you. I was able to book one of the free rooms last week; the offer was in my profile but I never received an email.

My son just called me all excited! Said he received an email from Carnival for a free cruise because of their past cruiser status (he's only been on 4) and Casino use. He didn't believe it was real, so he called his pvp and she confirmed it. What's funny about this is that his wife is so tight with their money on cruises and "allows" them $20 a day but she wins big every time playing slots! Carnival is losing money on this couple but I couldn't be happier for them. They just booked their free cruise and it only cost them $74.10!
