ehfl Posted September 12, 2013 #26 Share Posted September 12, 2013 As long as you have completed the prerequisite courses, I don't see why you can't do this.
onlyonetrevorfrancis Posted September 12, 2013 #27 Share Posted September 12, 2013 One of the highlights of our Liberty Western Med. cruise in May. We booked online an adult and child place in the Childs class so my wife could help our 3year old son. I would certainly recommend this, it was fantastic with the bonus you can eat them at the end :)
endobaby Posted September 12, 2013 #28 Share Posted September 12, 2013 I'm not OP but thanks for all the input. I have been on the fence on whether or not to book the Adult class as I am traveling alone and thought it was for children and teenagers. I think I will be signing up for it. :D
Carolynne67 Posted September 12, 2013 #29 Share Posted September 12, 2013 One of our special treats on the ship was to buy a daily cupcake...which is big enough for 2 to share. I remember seeing lots of little ladies with their dads doing the same - memorable bonding time! Do they have the cupcake class on the Adventure? wrcjr98 Posted September 25, 2013 #30 Share Posted September 25, 2013 If you pre-book online, how do you determine if you're signing up to make the hamburger/fries, the dog or the bird? or do you choose what you want to make at the class?
Royals Carol Posted September 25, 2013 #31 Share Posted September 25, 2013 Not sure if you're interested, but we also did a Pasta making class. The class was $15 and was taught by the Head Chef and the Head Sous Chef. In addition to the demonstration, a three course lunch was included as well as a tour of the Galley... well worth it. Is that offered on FOS? That sounds like something I would enjoy doing..
Mabbiez Posted September 26, 2013 #32 Share Posted September 26, 2013 I actually laughed at my dad for telling me he wants to do this, but the more I read about it the more fun it seems! I think I was wrong for laughing at my poor dad and now will join him in the class! :)

crookedhalo Posted September 26, 2013 #34 Share Posted September 26, 2013 Do they have the cupcake class on the Adventure? No, the Adventure does not have a Cupcake Cupboard currently (don't know if one is being added next year or not), so no class.

Esilef Posted September 28, 2013 #36 Share Posted September 28, 2013 This sounds great!!! It would also be a really nice environment to meet other passengers. Take a glass if wine or a cocktail even better. To the husbands whom laugh at the idea. I say no cupcake for you!

cruisinmama6 Posted February 23, 2014 #38 Share Posted February 23, 2014 My son would love to do the cupcake decorating class..he's 9. But he has a nut allergy...does anyone know if the monkey cupcakes have nut or nut products in them? Thanks so much!!
jaspercat Posted February 23, 2014 #39 Share Posted February 23, 2014 Do it -- sign them up! Yes, you can book ahead of time via the MyCruises. I find signing up early great as you get a better chance of getting the date/time you want. I did it on the Liberty and had a blast. Here's a pic of my not so great looking puppy. (the recipe in the book doesn't have any, I've only done the puppy so don't know if they use them on board or what cupcake batter is used.) KD2468x Posted February 23, 2014 #41 Share Posted February 23, 2014 Would a 10 yr old be a better fit for the child or adult class? Are there pretty significant differences in the cupcakes that they decorate?
jbrezen Posted February 23, 2014 #42 Share Posted February 23, 2014 I booked my three kids to do this on our upcoming Allure cruise, they will be 16,14, and 11. I put them in the kids class, but it sounds like the two teens should be in the adult class. Any thoughts where the 11 year old would fit?
Ceblake Posted February 23, 2014 #43 Share Posted February 23, 2014 If I take my 4 year old and I "help" him, do you think I would be charged as well?

On our Allure cruise last November, I had registered three in our group (ages, 14, 14, and 10) in a youth class. When we boarded, and I stopped by the Cupcake Cupboard, I was told the youth class was for children under 12. I wound up moving all three of them to the adult class. My daughter also did a youth class when she was 12. There were a lot of 5-7 year olds in the class with her, and she preferred the adult class. Are there pretty significant differences in the cupcakes that they decorate? The youth class decorated two cupcakes. Fairly simple. The adult class decorated one. It was a bit more involved. The youth class was also a bit shorter. At least that was our experience. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
sjb317 Posted February 23, 2014 #46 Share Posted February 23, 2014 I took our 5 year old grandson to the children's class on Freedom. They were given one cupcake to decorate (monkey) and I did help him some as he got kind of bored towards the end. You only pay for the child. I would think it would depend on the 10 year old. I can see how the children's class might be too easy for some but just right for others. There were several girls in Ben's class that looked as if they might be close to 10, most of the other children were probably 4 to 7.
