Rare Lois R Posted September 20, 2013 #26 Share Posted September 20, 2013 No need to pack hangers. Just ask your cabin attendant for extra ones. It is never a problem:)
CHEZMARYLOU Posted September 20, 2013 #27 Share Posted September 20, 2013 Hi Mary Lou:)...I only listed a few things but there are quite a fewother items I don't bring either. And it is not to give me room for extra shoes either:D There are things I don't bring because...well, I don't need or want them;) Lois, I don't actually take more shoes, even if I have the room. I too cannot imagine needing some of the things other cruisers take with them. Mary Lou
dodger1964 Posted September 20, 2013 #28 Share Posted September 20, 2013 You don't have to buy the "plastic water bottle" at the airport. You can just bring an empty one from home.

I do not bring many of the items on your list and have never missed them. I don't wear perfume so that is never on my list. I don't bring a sewing kit I don't bring room freshners I don't bring a plastic water bottle I don't bring extra name tags I don't bring night lights or ear plugs I don't bring laundry detergent I don't bring glue I don't bring an army knife:eek: I don't bring a shoe horn Those are just few items that are not important to me.....there are other items on your list I don't pack either. Different strokes for different folks:) This was great and I am sure there is a lot things you take that I would not...I especially would not take perfume, but I am sure my wife will. I tried to make a good generic list so my wife can tell me we forgot.... will no happen.
kjwinston Posted September 20, 2013 Author #31 Share Posted September 20, 2013 Cotton balls in cabinCan get playing cards from guest relations Get corkscrew from cabin steward. You may need that extra cash for overweight luggage if you are flying to your cruise:) I thought if you ask for a cork screw there would be a corkage fee attached? Project_gal Posted September 20, 2013 #35 Share Posted September 20, 2013 I thought if you ask for a cork screw there would be a corkage fee attached? No you would only be charfed corkage if you drank the wine in a public area on board. No corkahe if you drink it inyour stateroom even if your stateroom attendant provides the corkscrew.. carolslc Posted September 20, 2013 #37 Share Posted September 20, 2013 Socks to go with exercise shoes in the gym? I see 7 pairs of socks but wasn't sure if those were dress socks for dinner. I thought of this as I've brought all my workout clothes and shoes when traveling for business before, but forgot athletic socks. :) I like seeing lists like these - even though I might not bring all of this, it helps me think of things that I had forgotten to put on my own list. So, thanks!

Karynanne Posted September 20, 2013 #39 Share Posted September 20, 2013 Pretty funny, but I was thinking more of a strong laundry bag? But I am going to look for the Kitchen sink. I knew there was remodels, but now build in Kitchens? You must mean a Bar sink! About 13 years ago, we were on a Mexico cruise, and a couple that we dined with every evening, came back from their port tour, and told us they bought 3 Mexican glazed sinks that afternoon. Now I can seeing bringing everything, BUT the kitchen sink, but BUYING the kitchen/bathroom sinks while on vacation was a first for us! They were going to have them shipped home, for a re-model of their home.

GrammieMame Posted September 20, 2013 #42 Share Posted September 20, 2013 My husband had a swiss army knife confiscated while boarding a Royal Carribean ship. It was in his checked baggage. I really didn't get it, since sharp knives are in dining areas.

bonapart5 Posted September 21, 2013 #49 Share Posted September 21, 2013 You can buy cheap suction caps with hooks attached (K Mart, Walmart, drugstores etc) which will attach to the mirrors in your cabin. Then you can hang toiletry bag, clothes to wear or to dry, whatever you like. If you have a wall of mirrors they are great.
